It's funny because ever since I put that cornabll brotha on ignore, all the threads in TSC have seemed like good logical discussions.

Hmm, coincidence?

, but to interject in this thread, Cena is the franchise in the WWE, despite my hot and cold feeling towards, he is the biggest star in WWE today. He gets the best reaction out of the crowd and a perfect spokesperson for the company. I went to a WWE show at my school during the fall and I disappointed he wasn't there because of his injury because I wanted to feel the energy of a Cena reaction. And, he was gonna be a club downtown after and I wanted to see how man bytches were gonna be there:jawalrus:.

Where has anyone in this thread said that? They said he has good matches. And he does, just as often as he has matches that are ruined by his tension-killing formula. He may move like an 8-bit sprite and try too hard to play to those that dislike him, but calling him an outright terrible worker is a bit much.

Now, his character on the other hand...damn near insufferable. The smugness, the self-righteousness, I can't take it. I almost instinctively dislike his character in nearly any storyline that he's in, and his booking and card positioning really doesn't help.

But an outright bad worker? I thought 2006-2007 killed that image of Cena.

You nailed it. His character is his problem and you underlined all his faults . Cena honestly needed a real heel turn at some point now to have kept his super face somewhat fresh

His character just sucks dude been the top face since 05 and hasn't switched it up at all in 7 years. :comeon:

Cena gives off that "don't worry guys it's fake anyways" vibe when he is involved in any feuds or "bad situations" he encounters.

Look at the Rock feud Rock over here trying to buildup the match and Cena got his :troll: face on the entire time the Rock cuts a promo not putting anything he says over.

Look at the match at TLC dude looked like fukking Hunter after losing to Hardy that one PPV like :ehh: after AJ cost him MITB.

What would realistically be a good character change for Cena at this stage of his career?

The Doctor of Thuganomics gimmick is too dated, he's too old and it's too late in his career to go back to his old Prototype gimmick, and a heel turn is NEVER going to happen.

I definitely don't hate Cena himself. I do think it's some bullshyt though, that the company spokesmen like Trips say all they do is "listen to the fans" yet they insist on doing everything in their power to put the :cape: spotlight on Cena despite other wrestlers being more over.

Come on mannnn....

CM Punk was the first guy to beat Cena on merch sales in idk how many years.
What do we do? Turn Punk heel and make sure every WWE legend (Bret, Mick Foley etc) co-sign Cena's bullshyt and reiterate that Punk is an a$$hole :upsetfavre:

I was at Mania 28 and there was a lot more people that paid for Daniel Bryan and CM Punk merch than old JohnJohn.

The fact is, if you had a show that appealed to the attitude era demographic... you would have more people with money of their own interested in WWE merchandise. That's if that's your only prereq for "supporting the product". I think we internet whiners support the product cause we watch their bullshyt and contribute to their ratings :usure:

Good responses. To make it clear, I was referring to Cena in the ring (not outside) I also respect him and other wrestlers charitable work.

Also, I do not hate the guy I just don't see what makes him likable, but again good responses and I'm glad this didn't turn into some bash thread.

In the ring he's had classics year in and year out, compared to Hogan he is a 5 star wrestler

Compared to Hogan most wrestlers are 5 star wrestlers. I've never been a Hogan fan either but I could see his appeal. :yeshrug:

I can't agree with classics year in and out for John Cena, :ehh: but I'm not going to argue that.
