That stat is misleading. Anybody watching Knicks games knows Melo has hit timely, big shots on a consistent basis since coming to NY.
If accurate it's a bad stat yea, but no one can say Melo isn't clutch.
Edit: And I would love to see a Knicks trade that doesn't involve Melo. Package some of the bench players for an established wing or a 3 and D guy.
You're right. He has definitely hit big, timely shots consistently. People think clutch is just game-winners.
'Melo shot 70.4% on 2's just last season in clutch situations. That's 7% higher than Lj and 12.8% higher than KD:

He also averaged 6.5 ppg in the 4th on 45.1% shooting last season:
NBA.com/Stats
By contrast, Lj only scored 0.6 (7.1) more points on a 3.5% better fg% (48.6%) in the 4th. He's a slasher, so that's nothing.
KD averaged less points than 'Melo in the 4th (5.3 ppg) on a lower fg% (44.4%).
He's doing all this without another star player to distract defenses like Lj and KD have. KP got that wide open shot in Charlotte because 'Melo was double-teamed.
What's the stat? Whoever posted it is on ignore, so I can't see it. I wanna look it up.
