That stat is misleading. Anybody watching Knicks games knows Melo has hit timely, big shots on a consistent basis since coming to NY.

If accurate it's a bad stat yea, but no one can say Melo isn't clutch.

Edit: And I would love to see a Knicks trade that doesn't involve Melo. Package some of the bench players for an established wing or a 3 and D guy.

:leostare: His first three years as a Knick he was fine, but after that short period, he's been awful. There's nothing misleading about that statistic just because they're highlighting how pathetic he's been in the fourth quarter these last few years. From the 2013-2014 season till now, Melo has been shooting 38.5% from the field overall and 30.8% from three point land.

Yeah, you guys can't even refute what I said.

Ball dominant point guard who has proven to be great at setting people up and tries on defense? Explain how that's so bad if we can get him on a deal?
1. Rondo is ball hog and an offensive net negative. Him and the triangle don't mesh. He's doesn't push the tempo; he dribbles the air out the ball to stat pad his assist totals.

2. He's a fukking malcontent and a headcase.

I wonder what's going on with the adjustments Fisher said he's gonna make to the starting line up? If Fisher does ever make a change, he might go small with Porzingis at the 5 and put Lopez on the bench. Even though I like the idea of Porzingis at the 5 for stretches, I would worry about the toll it would take on his body long term by starting him at the 5. Also that probably means Lance Thomas would start, rather than bumping up Afflalo to the 3, and putting in Grant or Galloway instead :snoop:

I still think that the biggest issue with the starting line up is Calderon though, and not Lopez (he was a big reason why the defense was ranked in the top 5 for the first 10 or 15 games of the season); he's too slow, he's letting players blow by him and the bigs on the team are getting in foul trouble trying to contest these players, and his vision hasn't been all that great. Calderon's ability to stretch the floor isn't worth all the trouble anymore, and he might be better playing next to Grant and off of the ball more.

People in here want to sign a ball dominant point guard who shoots 50% from free throw, sounds like a great idea......

Melo without KP on the floor

31.4% FG
20% 3ptFG

Melo with KP on the floor

43.4% FG
39.7% 3ptFG

They make each other better

Much like Porzingis already admitted, when Melo is on the floor he gets better looks and touches.

It seems the same is true for Melo. This should shut people the fukk up for a while...

:ohhh: So, you're trying to prove that "KP makes 'Melo better" by telling us that 'Melo is shooting the lowest fg percentages of his career playing with KP? :mjlol: And by telling us he shoots like trash with or without KP on the floor?

If we won't blame that on KP, then why are we giving KP credit when 'Melo shoots well? Another thing that disproves this nonsense: defenses never help off 'Melo to double KP, leaving 'Melo open, but defenses do help off KP to double 'Melo, leaving KP open all the time.

Why do y'all keep pulling out that on/off court stat as if it's an individual stat? If you don't know that it depends on the combo of all 5 players on the court, then why keep using a stat you don't understand?:what:

An illustration of the on/off court stat is that KP was shooting in the 30's before Arron came back and the fact that Sasha and Jose were a poor tandem when they were forced to play together because of Arron's injury. If you do understand it, why be intellectually dishonest? :jbhmm: I love KP too, but some of y'all are truly sad. :snoop:

Greg montoe was never comjng to yall. From outside in you guys were a project and no other big fish was trying to go to you guys. Phil went all in for rhe drsft snd ended up with porzingas who we thought would likely be a 3 year project at best 2 yeaes and hes been arguably the best player this season for you guys
Monroe has said with his own mouth he was looking at Milwaukee and most people expdcted spurs if they struck out with lamarcus

Everybody hyped up lakers and knicks for landing big name free agents but clearly most fa of quality werent trying to go to either because they looked like projects

You can assert that Greg was never coming, but the fact is, Phil was never spending. Just because "people expected" the Spurs, doesn't mean he was going. I can tell you read a lot of gossip. He met with NY and was not offered the max, probably because he can't defend. Looks like the Bucks turned into a "project" with Greg. They were much better without him. NY wasn't "looking like a project". They had money, just like the Cavs had money. Nope, Gasol stayed home for the money and because he had an established contender (oh, but look at them now), La'Marcus went to the best team in the league, Lj went "home" for PR, the money, and because he's a coward who can't handle NY's media because he needs everyone to like him.

How can KP be the best player when 'Melo is the best shooter, best scorer, best defender, and 2nd best passer on the team, KP can't shoot above the 30's without 'Melo and Arron to distract defenses, defenses don't respect KP's shooting, leaving him wide open all the time because they're so terrified of 'Melo, KP admitted this himself after the BK game. Bosh also pointed it out and KP even took a shot at Bosh for pointing out that teams are ignoring him because of 'Melo by saying Miami did the same thing, noting that his 1st shot in Miami was wide open (which was probably the only open one he got, the rest were off of mismatches and he didn't shoot well that night, he never does against Miami or any team with bigs who defend, for that matter), KP can't create his own shot without turning the ball over, KP had to be taught post moves by 'Melo over the summer that he still can't convert without turning the ball over, KP can't and doesn't defend, KP can't and doesn't pass?

People still butt hurt about a comment he made about Lin's contract when he left the Knicks for the Rockets.

Funny how people tend to forget how Lin was afraid to play Miami in the playoffs after we lost Billups & then Baron Davis to injuries.

Oh, 'Melo hurt their feelings when he pointed to his "ridiculous contract"? I was :deadmanny: when he said that.

And yes, after Miami showed him what time it was, he was a never ending injury. :deadrose:
