'Melo was trash on both ends last night. Still can't hit a shot and kept getting caught on screens trying to guard Hayward. He gets a pass because he did try and because of his knee. He did score in double digits in limited minutes by getting to the line, which showed heart (if other players had done that, they would have scored more). He also set some guys up for buckets and he rebounded well, which NY needed because they got torched on the boards by 15.

KP played poorly on both ends, and he didn't board again. Minutes have nothing to do with it, as Seraphin grabbed 5 in less than 9 minutes. He gets a pass for his shooting because he's a rook and sometimes, rook or not, shots just don't fall. No passes for his defense and rebounding because that's an effort issue.

Rolo (who was trash on both ends), Gallo, Grant, D-Will, and Sasha (who finally shot well) were also trash on the boards, which is a big part of the loss. No passes for that. I'm sure some of them were bad on one or both ends as well, but I can't remember and was too tired to watch the 2nd half of a blowout.

Overall, the defense (from the field and from 3), rebounding, and offense was putrid and is why NY lost and got blown out. Hopefully, they bring it tonight since no one played hardly any minutes.

First of all I said I'm not taking any shots

But then you followed it up by saying you wonder if I'm watching games or just making shyt up... that BY DEFINITION is a shot. :manny:

& you yet you wanna be a bytch ass keyboard warrior & tell me to shutup? You can choke on your father's dikk with AIDS on it fam for real. And you are wrong no amount of your wack analyses is going to change it.

I never in any way said he was an elite defender or would get better. What I did say because your lack of comprehension & arrogance thinking you're trying to school me shows you have no clue is that he's been solid this season & his one-on-one defense has been pretty good.

1) You're wrong about Melo's defense, and if you watched last night, it was clear as day... again.

2) Keep that middle school shyt to yourself, why do you young kids immediately get allll in your feelings, and resort to talking about dikks? :scusthov: Somebody says something you don't like and all of the sudden you're out here describing penii, length, girth, sexual acts, disease toppings.... :mindblown: It's a bizarre obsession.

Regardless, save all that. I'm in east harlem every day, all day... and if you want to flex OFF your keyboard, you can hop the 6-sleigh and come catch this pre-jingle fade. :JFKBOSS:

But most importantly... read the posts before you respond, and sound like some fukking brat. I don't care if Melo's defense has been "pretty good" -- My point is that he's never been a good defender for any consistent length of time. And he's NEVER going to get better. It's not like 2 years from now he's going to be a better defender than he is now.

HE IS A DECLINING COMMODITY. Those are the facts. It's not hate, it's not "wack analyses" - it is life. If he wanted to commit himself to being a plus defender, he could have done it years ago, when he still had the quickness to cover the wing... he doesn't have it anymore.

At best, we can hope for him to be late-stage artest, after his quickness faded, and he was able to muscle guys, and give them a hard time. But he doesn't show consistent focus to do that.

Go to this video, and fire up from the :30 mark -
Knicks vs Jazz

Watch as he fails to rotate fully on the 1st play, where he could have easily taken a charge or change the direction of the play, watch the second where he allows himself to get stuck to his man, and doesn't even bother trying to rotate toward the drive, and watch the third as he airballs, and then lets gordon hayward run right by him for a layup.

All plays where he could have had a positive impact on, and did not.... mostly because of a lack of focus and commitment to being a consistent defender.

:manny:

@Knicksman20 @I.V.

Y'all nikkas need to chill, man. I fukks with the both of y'all and this shyt doesn't need to go down like that. You're good dudes.

We still fam. Come on, man.

:khaled1:

Nah, man.

I've been in this thread for YEARS. I don't fukk with children. Don't tell me "facts" and when I show you you're wrong... get all bent out of shape and start screaming about aids and whatever else.

We can disagree, even argue without getting alllll in the feelings.

I don't think he has a high ceiling, but he fits in with the triangle and should be able to produce right away. Gotta wonder if he will he be there if the Knicks buy a pick since he's pegged to go right outside the lottery and there's also the fact he and Timothe Luwawu are basically going to go around the same time. Do you take Valentine, or go with Luwawu who has a much higher ceiling due to athleticism and length :jbhmm:

This is Luwawu

Listed at 6'7" which probably means 6'8" in shoes since Euro clubs list players at heights without shoes.

I've been on the Luwawu bandwagon. He already looks taller than listed, and I think he's gonna be able to pick a team's pace up single-handedly between his range on defense, and his finishing ability.

But i'd be happy with valentine too. Justin Jackson, Sabonis, Mykhailiuk, Newman, Devin Robinson -- There's gonna be talent in the end of this first round. And into the second, if you need a shotblocking Center or a shooter.

Sources: Carmelo frustrated with Knicks' slow pace

Carmelo Anthony hasn’t hidden the fact that he’s been disappointed by theKnicks' recent struggles.

“Losing is frustrating,” Anthony said after the Knicks’ loss to the Mavericks on Monday. “I don’t want this to be an ongoing situation or an ongoing feeling where we have to come into the locker room and explain why we’re losing basketball games.”

Anthony hasn’t offered many specifics, publicly, for why he thinks the Knicks (10-13) have struggled lately. But, privately, sources say Anthony has expressed frustration to teammates with the Knicks’ slow pace of play.

After a recent home loss, Anthony told teammates that the Knicks needed to play faster in an effort to get easier baskets in transition, sources say.

“He felt like they were stuck in the half court too much,” one source said Thursday.

In the preseason and early in the regular season, the Knicks were playing at one of the NBA’s fastest paces. But they’ve since slowed down considerably. They enter Thursday’s game against the Sacramento Kings ranked 23rd in pace.

Coach Derek Fisher emphasized in the preseason that he wanted the Knicks to play faster after they finished last season playing at the third-slowest pace in the NBA.

So it would appear that Fisher and Anthony are looking for the same change in play for New York, which has dropped seven of nine.

Fisher said last month that he’d like the Knicks to play faster and look for opportunities in transition. But he pointed to a lack of practice time as one reason New York had been unable to do so.

The Knicks may also be able to increase their pace if they created more turnovers and limited opponents' offensive rebounds. They enter play Thursday forcing just 12.5 turnovers per game -- the second fewest in the NBA. They also are allowing 11.5 offensive rebounds per game -- tied for the fifth-highest total entering Thursday’s games -- and rank 24th in defensive rebounding rate.

These damn "sources". And I blame Fisher with his dumb ass rotations from earlier, he's ruined any chemistry these cats had with one another.
