Phil and LeGM should do a Kevin Love for Melo trade.

Works out for all parties involved and it gives them a shot at landing Westbrook when he hits FA

I'mma start with the crappier response, because it's easier to get this out of the way.

I don't know who you are, and really it doesn't matter. I have watched every knicks game, often twice. I have a background in scouting, and have done extensive film work plus worked in sports reporting and writing for a bunch of years.

But more importantly, I have been watching melo since he was in high school (I played at the ABCD camp against him, and went to BC, who played Cuse in the Big East) -- I'm just VERY familiar with him, and I root for him. But I'm also a realist, and I know that he's less explosive than he's been ever in his career -- and he's not getting MORE explosive or quick over the next 3 years. Right?

He has never been an elite defender. He has only ever been a PLUS defender for stretches, and never for a whole season. Which is fine, I only ask him to be engaged, active, and aware. But he's getting older, and he's not going to be a great defender in this league going forward. It just isn't possible.

Even tonight, as you were typing this nonsense, he looked sluggish on defense, and didn't get around to rotate on two different plays that I caught while at work.

In parting: Lance Thomas sucks, man. He is good enough to play for the knicks right now... but so is Sasha. Lance can't be in the rotation of any good to very good nba team.

:heh:

I like going back and forth... I think you are more optimistic about Melo's next three years than I am... I guess it's just prognostication, so either of us COULD be right. But I have a LOT of history behind me.

In the mean time, this game has been an embarrassment.

First of all I said I'm not taking any shots & you yet you wanna be a bytch ass keyboard warrior & tell me to shutup? You can choke on your father's dikk with AIDS on it fam for real. And you are wrong no amount of your wack analyses is going to change it. I never in any way said he was an elite defender or would get better. What I did say because your lack of comprehension & arrogance thinking you're trying to school me shows you have no clue is that he's been solid this season & his one-on-one defense has been pretty good.

I'm not in to the tit for tat so if you choose to respond be guest but this is the last time I will acknowledge your wack ass.

A player by player review of last night would be each guy's name next to "sucked" and that's about it with the exceptions of Sasha and KOQ...so I went a different route.

Good news:
. Our starters are pretty well rested for tonight...

. KOQ did well

. In the name of charitable contributions, we hooked Utah fans up with free chicken sandwiches...take that "the man"

Bad news:
. Sasha did well

. Everyone else sucked

. Melo's lateral movement been gone since bumping knees with Giannis and our team defense shows no signs of actual communication

. Even as the team struggles shooting, they don't attack the basket

. Pick and roll switching has now been exploited violently two games back to back

. When our defense is trash, RoLo becomes fairly useless

.The small ball line-up for the Jazz led to Fisher's adjustment of benching KP for Lance instead of RoLo for Lance even while we needed offense

Possible Fixes:
. Gotta get a playmaker in and refocus on getting to the line

. AA needs more opportunities to be the focal point (switching him with Grant still makes sense to me and I've said it since his first game back)

. Stop switching so much (can't do that without communication), let the bigs hedge a bit harder and tell the guards to dip under and play the passing lane at least until the ball handlers show that they'll hit jumpers

. Increase use of the high pick and roll that helped get Grant and the bench going again because it'll help the starters out too

. If Melo's not right, then rest him next chance you can get him a few days off...dude bumps his knee, gets a random illness and never looks the same since; who are you guys kidding? Rest him and let KP/AA be the go to guys in the interim. Let him come back when he was can move laterally and get lift on his jumper

.Diversify the system by adding some set pieces you can throw in to break up certain defensive schemes

So true. I don't understand why we're doing this right out of the gate. First quarter & I'm seeing this happen again like the Mavs game consistently where we weren't doing it as much this whole season. I don't know what's changed.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Pretty much, what do you think of Denzel Valentine?

I don't think he has a high ceiling, but he fits in with the triangle and should be able to produce right away. Gotta wonder if he will he be there if the Knicks buy a pick since he's pegged to go right outside the lottery and there's also the fact he and Timothe Luwawu are basically going to go around the same time. Do you take Valentine, or go with Luwawu who has a much higher ceiling due to athleticism and length :jbhmm:

This is Luwawu

Listed at 6'7" which probably means 6'8" in shoes since Euro clubs list players at heights without shoes.
