If we had our draft pick after this season, I would be more interested in trade offers for Melo...but if we lose him, we are back to being a lottery team, and I'll be damned if I just hand over a lottery pick without a fight.

^This right here

If and I mean IF Melo was traded it would be next year to start to tank and probably pick up a pick or two as well. You guys are also forgeting for as young as KP is at 20 there is no real reason to not try and build a competitive with him and Melo except to draft high. Thats not an option this year so that duo isn't being broken apart. In the future that might change but shyt he would be 24 when Melo comes off the books which is still young enough to build around for a decade plus if he stays healthy.

:mjlol: you care way to much about this.

This thread is full of people who stuck with this team through hell and back we have the right to have an opinion, especially when its becoming clear Melo is beginning his decline. Like you said he's not Kobe, and the Lakers were retarded for reupping him for what they did too and you know it'

Anyway if your still a fan of the lakers 5 years from now when they maybe don't suck donkey balls then you can talk about being a good fan or not. :jawalrus:

I'm on the "let Melo stay to help KP transition" train myself but knick fans who aren't bandwagon fans can make an argument trade Melo now before he becomes the teams derrick rose, Amare, etc albatross contract. Because we know cap hell.
Real shyt breh.

Either way, even when we disagree...I love my KnickFam

The irony. You make it clear that you're biased towards Melo. You act like Melo didn't force his way to New York and made us gut our team.

People still running with this bullshyt narrative. We gave up Mozgov (who I admit would've been a nice price to keep) Will Chandler, Gallinari (one of them would've have to been moved during the offseason, they all played the same position) & Raymond fukking Felton (no explanation needed).

The problem with trading Melo isn't finding suitors who want Melo, it's finding a team Melo wants to go to, can match Melo's massive salary, and gives the Knicks back at least some decent assets, and the only two teams that fit the criteria that come to my head, are the Heat and the Rockets. So I haven't even entertained the thought of Melo being traded, if it happens it'll probably be in the offseason or next season, when he'll admittedly be a depreciated asset most likely. For now it seems like the front office wants the team to try and be competitive so they look better to free agents the next couple of offseasons.

Bucks thoughts

The starters definitely looked a bit gassed, jumpers were short most of the night. On the second night of a back to back, they were a jump shooting team and the slashing Bucks beat them down. It definitely didn't help that the refs were terrible (I try to shy away from blaming the refs but honestly how did these dudes simultaneously decide to let aggressive, physical defense go while cracking down on any remote reaching or borderline moving screens?).

- Melo is still looking for consistent three point range, but once that starts to land he'll open up the offense for everybody even more. He let the refs take him out of this one mentally though and hurt us.

- KP looked fatigued from jump and made the type of foolish fouls he'd stopped doing of late. He wasn't terrible, but it was his worst performance in close to ten games if not more.

- RoLo is here to stop offensive bigs from tearing us up in the paint, he failed this time around. Seraphin was no better. If there's one thing KOQ can undoubtedly state, it's that he's defended Greg Monroe better than anyone on our roster this year so not surprising Monroe went off with the new rotation.

- AA still steady, but he didn't step up this time around which I'm gonna attribute to fatigue because he's gone for it way more in recent games.

- Lance really played well offensively but he wasn't very good on defense (his least consistent effort of the season imo), especially in box out situations. D-Will actually played the best defense on Giannis for most of the night but he and Grant are both really susceptible to the back door cut.

- On the D-Will tip, I thought he played borderline brilliant ball even with the modest statline. He had a couple of defensive lapses, but for the most part he was locked in. At one point he made a couple of stops then had a deflection and he ran over to dap Early because he was hyped up for defense. That's a really great sign.

- Seraphin isn't killing us or anything, but he can't seem to get everything going at once. Either he's scoring but black hole style or he's passing well but can't get a bucket to drop. He's been solid on defense, the effort is there but his lateral quickness is lacking and our defensive scheme is reliant on a mobile C (RoLo thrives in it and KOQ actually does well when he's a C there but KS has problems at it).

- Grant had a modest but solid stat line but his actual play was pretty. He struggled with MCW some, but outplayed Vaughn badly. He's starting to use that step back jumper that I really like and is overall looking more confident. Dude throws some insane kick outs too, coulda had more assists if not for tired legs.

- Galloway is back to helping us out in other places but still hasn't got his stroke back. He got back to the boards, passed well, moved off the ball well and played some aggressive defense. We could really use that jumper though.

He could average 40ppg for the rest of the season and I'd still say to trade him, good game or bad game, the Knicks should trade him. I've been consistent about this since last year :yeshrug: he's not the type of player you build around as the cornerstone of a franchise.

No, he's not a bum, the problem is you act like he's prime LeBron*. He's not a tier 1 guy, he's not a top 10 player by any metric and he's only going to get worse as he gets older. You have to know when to move on from a player, the Warriors with your mindset keep Monta Ellis, the Hawks keep Joe Johnson, the Celtics keep Pierce, etc etc etc.

Get something for him while you can, or end up with a player nobody wants.

Melo has been trash this season. People can't admit it wow. Dude goes on his ISO Melo and keeps missing shots and refuses to pass

Fisher looks overwhelmed and sometimes takes too long to make decisions .he does not know who works with each other and this game shows us that This team is not good at all.

We should've won this game:beli:

'Melo has not been trash. Your precious "franchise player/rook of the year" Teflon P wasn't "trash" when he was shooting in the 30's. I guess Wiggins is "trash" because his fg% is similar to 'Melo's and 'Melo has played much better defense than him on 1 knee at 31 years old? He was doubled once Kidd saw that he was shooting well (50%), disturbing his rhythm, not to mention the bogus 5 fouls that disturbed his rhythm and you're gonna blame him for that? You love to hate him. He only took 17 shots. His defense is elite, fg% is only 4% below his career average through only 21 games after knee surgery and missing 42 games, he's raised it by 4% in only 16 games, his rebounding is good, steals elite, blocks elite. How does he "refuse to pass" when he keeps switching back and forth between 1st and 2nd on his team in assists? He was 3rd in assists in the game with 3 (and this, when most of them couldn't hit a shot). He was also 6th on the team in passes made in the game with 36 and only Jose made significantly more passes than that on the team. You're lying on him.

We're gonna blame the entire loss on 'Melo when your precious Teflon P was trash and turned the ball over 5 times because he remains in denial about his ability to dribble? NY needed buckets and 'Melo got the most (18). Why couldn't your precious "franchise player" score more than 12 pathetic points when NY needed buckets? He gets wide open shots from 'Melo being doubled (including in the Bucks game), what's the excuse? NY got out-rebounded by 12. Why couldn't the 7'3'' "franchise player/rook of the year" pull down more than 7 boards? NY needed defense. Giannis shot 40% against 'Melo. Why doesn't your precious "franchise player" ever guard anyone? Why does he just roam around for blocks, instead of getting those blocks and guarding his man, like Rolo does? He doesn't even have to guard the best big, Rolo does. What's the excuse? Why does he try to contest guards? Why doesn't he ever pass the ball? He looks to shoot every time he gets it and he's always calling for it. He's averaging less assists than Kevin. :francis:

Why doesn't Rolo ever keep Monroe off the boards. Why did Monroe go off against Rolo for 18 points on 61%. Why didn't Jose shoot more than 4 times when NY needed buckets? Why did Gallo only score 4 pathetic points on a pathetic 20%? Why doesn't Grant ever shoot well? Why was Kevin scoreless?

It's not Fish's fault that the starters were too tired because of all the mins they played the night before and they've played 3 games in 4 nights. Get this, no team has played well in a stretch of 3 games in 4 nights. I've been watching teams getting blown out left and right with that stretch.

I'm not even there yet, but I'm glad people are realizing that the knicks (Phil) made a mistake. Trash is a bit harsh, just not a top tier player.

They need to dump him, that's the last I'm going to touch on this shyt. Every game is more and more obvious that we need to move on.

This is ridiculous. 41% fg, 35.7% from 3, elite defense, 21.7 ppg, 7 rpg, 3.1 apg, 1 spg, 0.6 bpg, etc, after serious knee surgery and missing 42 games is more than top tier. Meanwhile, Lj can't even shoot 50% next to Love this year and next to Love and Kyrie last year. That's pathetic for a slasher, even without Love and Kyrie. You love to regurgitate the media's talking points to sound like you know what you're talking about. It's embarrassing.

you guys are a pathetic fan base.

laker fans would never treat Kobe like this. even in his darkest days we are stanning him.

Melo deserves better.

First you guys put Lin above him and now Porzingis(mind you, grabbed 7 rebounds at 7'3...grab less boards than your height brehs and had 5 tos). this is embarrassing

@KologeroBx you need to rally your troop. I wouldn't let this go down.

Every bit of this.
you think we should have gave him less bread in the contract ? :ohhh:

Nope. He could've renegotiated his contract next season when the cap will go way up, like Lj will do. Instead, he locked himself into a 4-year deal, leaving buku millions on the table to spend on talent. Plus, that additional $5M he chose not to take. On top of that, he has a no-trade clause. Y'all sound stupid trashing him for shooting 4% below his career average, especially since he started the season shooting 37% (8% below his average). There's no credit for the fact that he raised his fg% by 4% in only 16 games. Those throwing him under the bus are disingenuous and were just waiting on his imperfections to show up. Y'all are drunk with hate and need to step away from the media because not only is it brainwashing you, it's killing your brain cells. Trade him, so that KP can go back to shooting in the 30's :mjlol: and y'all can lose more games without his defense and 23ppg. We'll see how much of a "franchise player" and "rook of the year" KP is.
