I'm always going to side with the players against the owners. Knicks could've matched the Rockets offer either way, but chose not to. Lin wasn't going be to the difference maker against that Pacers or the Heat (if they happened to advanced against Indiana) the following year.

Toronto tried the same sh*t with Landry Fields, they signed homie to that big ass offer sheet expecting Dolan to match, and the Knicks told him to kick rocks. Lin also held himself out of the playoffs so he wouldn't hurt his stock. He can f*ck off for all I care.

That reminds me, where the fukk is Landry Fields?:deadrose:

I remember he fukked with the mechanics of his jump shot after his rookie season, and his shot went straight to the shytter after. After he signed with the Raptors I completely lost track of him.

I have question... where do people think the Knicks would have ended up record wise if Melo hasn't gotten hurt by the ref mid-season?

And do you take that into consternation when you consider the Knicks improvement this year over last year, or do you still reference what their actual record was?

I think we would've been in a 40s, we lost a lot of games cause of Melo's absence(about 7-9 iirc, lost all games he didn't play) on top of that when he got injured we were on a pretty good win streak as well. Also I've said and still stand by it, coaching lost us some games as well. Feel like we could've sneaked into the 8th spot.

The second part of your question is confusing me a bit so I can't answer that well.

He rode the bench on the Raptors, now he is out the NBA:manny:

So what I mean is... people might say "i think the Knicks will win 40 games next year because they won 32 last year and they improved some"... whereas others might say "I think the Knicks will win 48 games because I think they would have won 40 if Melo or Porzingis didn't get hurt... and they improved this year"

Some people predict the future based only on what the final record was, regardless of what happened to get them there. Others take into account other factors to kind of recalibrate based on the potential they already had and THEN predict the future from that starting point.

I can see it from both sides... just interested to see how people are thinking

Ah ok, I'd see it on both sides as well since everything will never go as planned and there are always variables. So, they can win at least 45 games this season if everything goes right but you can't really build off of last season since that team is pretty much gone. I don't think everyone will be healthy all throughout the season but I think we'll definitely make a run. I'm basing all this purely off our off season moves.
