But Lin shot himself in the foot when he decided to have that "poison pill" clause in his contract banking on the fact that Dolan said he would match any offer. Had the original deal been signed, there would have been no problems. I'm always going to side with the players against the owners. Knicks could've matched the Rockets offer either way, but chose not to. Lin wasn't going be to the difference maker against that Pacers or the Heat (if they happened to advanced against Indiana) the following year.
