I like Noah on the team...but not at 18 mil.

I get it tho, that money is going up for everybody and it ain't my money so fukk it.

If Noah can stay healthy, provide some protection around the rim as well as low post passing...I'm with it. Plus this team needs some attitude...what the fukk happened to the Melo that used to SUCKA punch dudes? This team is soft...hopefully Noah and Rose can change that.

$18M for Noah is a lot :francis:

He shot 38% and 44% the last two seasons has an injury history I hope it's a one year deal with a team option. Why not a lower deal with incentives?

I'd love the 5 assists per game, DPoY Noah though :wow:

Just a bit of on going over the cap, we would be able to go over the cap on FA's we've had for two consecutive seasons aka Lance Thomas and Langston Galloway and we'd have one more above minimum contract to offer in the form of the lower level exception but it's pretty low anyway (I think 2.5 million). So theoretically we could spend our cap, use the LLE and then pay LG and LT whatever we want. So there's a little bit of leeway, but not much.

Terrence Jones would be a cool addition, I was hype on him coming out of the draft but he's never really come close to hitting the potential he's got. That wing span and mobility is crazy and we need a cheap back-up PF imo (still not buying KOQ as a PF). I think Noah, Lee and a back-up PG should be feasible (Tim Frazier worth a look? Could be late season fool's gold but he looked legit to me and should actually be affordable). LLE to bring over Willy and then bringing back Galloway/Lance would set up a decent (really a beggars can't be choosers but decent) bench rotation.

Rose/Frazier
Lee/Galloway
Melo/Lance
KP/Jones
Noah/Willy or KOQ

Third stringers could be one of Baker/Harris, Early (or some other minimum contract Forward) and KOQ or Willy. There'd be upside all over the bench and the starting unit should be a top ten defense in this league even with Rose's struggles on that end last year.

Edit: Two other names worth a look for bench PG and PF would be Etwaun Moore (depending on cost though) and Jon Leuer. Shoutout to that article posted earlier, didn't even know Moore was available.

Good looks on all the FA/Cap notes, I'm glad somebody else is interested in that stuff -- I started typing a bunch of out,a nd going into the 2-year rule on going above the cap... then decided people would get bored, but now that I see it all written out, I hope guys read it.

A couple of guys in that Lowe article are useful -- Moore, Leuer (though I think people in this thread would hate him eventually) Harkless could be not terrible, I'd love to root for Boban, but he's the opposite of Hornacek's offense.

I have a feeling Baker ends up on the roster, he could be another guy that's useful. I think he was forced to shoot waaaay to much in college, and actually displays some good court vision as well as effort on defense. Plus he's fukking LONG for a short guard-- 6:10 wingspan, with a 35 inch max vert. This dude is NOT aaron craft.
