I think Noah is the perfect fit..but 18 mil :noah:

I was hoping we could get him for around 10 mil per....I wasn't even close

It's going to be real interesting to see how Phil fills out the roster. I like Courtney Lee a lot I hope
that works in our favor

Me personally I'm tired of watching the Knicks missing the playoffs.
so I don't mind the signing of vets, and KP getting Playoff experience is invaluable
you can't have a culture of continuous losing and expect to attract FAs and we've seen that
come into play last year. As long as were not mortgaging our future for minimal short-term success
go for the gusto Phil...He was brung in to make the Knick championship contenders within 5 yrs, we're in yr 3.

We can go over the cap if it comes down to it. Dolan isn't afraid to spend money to get players. He will pay the penalty if the right players come along.

Heads up: that's not how the NBA cap works, you can't just "go over the cap" and pay a penalty. Once you hit the cap, you can only really offer the league minimum to guys. Usually it's that, plus a small exception.

So if you have 30 mil in cap space, and you sign a guy at 18 and 12... then ESSENTIALLY: you have to fill out the rest of your roster with guys that sign for the minimum.

Considering Rose-Noah-Courtney Lee is kind like a Best Buy Black Friday package...

I'm less upset.

Lineup Addict*

S: [Rose, C. Lee, Melo, Porzingis, Noah]
B: [Galloway(or Lin), Justin Holiday(or Crawford), Lance Thomas, O' Quinn, Hernangoez, Seraphin]

I'm willing to go into the season with that.

If you sign Noah and Lee, I don't think you can't afford lin or crawford.

Low-key, I'd consider taking a shot on Terrence Jones to play under the Horn. He's mobile, he covers a ton of ground on defense, he's shown that he can shoot the ball. Last year was a bad year for him (and the whole team, really) But he'll turn 25 this season, and could be a buy low candidate.

@I.V.

Thanks for the cap clarification...

What would have happened if we signed Durant?! :dwillhuh:

We'd have had to fill the rest of the roster with players willing to take minimum contracts??:damn:
If we signed Durant instead of Noah? there'd still be some money depending on what a max contract for him would be. But in that instance it would probably be worth it since he's top 5 in the league. Noah isn't

Edit: After research, a max contract for Durant starts at 25 mil....which leaves 5 million for 1 or 2 players. Then minimum contracts would come after.
