Inexcusable. :martin:

He was intent on getting in on the draft and he felt that the potential talent did not outweigh the cost.

Someone tell me why I should be mad at this when most of us watching the draft were perplexed by the draft picks of teams already.

Do we spend money just to spend money?

It's a cheaper alternative than to overpaying free agents. "cost" was only $2.4 million to buy a early second round pick from Milwaukee and the team had $3.3 million to spend on a draft pick. Team needs back-up PG, wings,C and maybe another PF (one who is preferably a stetch four like Bentil). Jackson (projected late 1st round pick) and McCaw (potential 3 & D guy) could've been useful players for the Knicks.

Another player added to our Summer League Roster. He's not on a pro contract, so we'd have to sign him quickly or face another N'Diaye (sp?) situation if he balled out...but Marvelle Harris is now gunning for a training camp invite. Here's an article from earlier on when it looked like we were gonna grab him. From what I've seen, it's official now. He'll be in Orlando.

Well, you don't spend money just to spend money, you spend money to acquire potential control over an asset.

When guys like Jackson, Bolmboy, Cornelie, Zipser, even felder or cousins -- when they fall further than expected, you should take a shot at them, get them on a 2-3 year deal with options. This team doesn't have very many players on the roster, and we just traded 3-for-1, two of whom were young, healthy contributors on good contracts.

I don't think NOT drafting Zipser or Cornelie, for example, is some kinda disaster... but don't make money the argument, it doesn't count against the cap. There zero opportunity cost to buying a pick.

The warriors bought 38 for cash, straight up. Which means the Knicks coulda had a shot at Stone or Zimmerman, even. Just seems like a wasted opportunity to try to steal some value.

Okay, now I see a reason to criticize.

Is it true that a lot of the prospect that the Knicks were looking at didn't get drafted at all?

None of those dudes would have bought anything to the roster anytime soon, if at all. If he had acquired a 2 rd pick it would've been better used on a draft and stash prospect. This Draft was super average. Why pay 2 mil on fringe NBA prospect like Bentil (not including actually signing him) when you can sign a veteran big man to be the 14-15th man on the roster. It was no talent in the 1st rd that really stood out let alone the 2nd rd.

Exactly if he felt the pick was worth the money he would of brought the pick . If he getting the same players undrafted it's smart

A few years ago the Knicks where the New York Nuggets, bout to sign Noah and we can then officially call the team the New York Bulls :blessed:
I was about to ask the same thing. It's gotta be Mook. Rex is prolly there too, just too short to fit in the frame with tall ass Noah.
