Q: Why do you still have hope it can work in New York?
Anthony: “I got hope in myself. I do have to believe in the process. I don’t want to say this was all part of the plan coming back [to New York]. This is a big, big summer.”

Q: What would you like to see happen this summer? What do the Knicks need to do?

Anthony: “I don’t really want to say exactly. But I think we need something we can put together that is going to be there over the next couple of years. Now it’s time to start competing for a championship, not just competing for the playoffs. Those days for me are over with.”
...
Q: How much power do you have with [your] no-trade clause?

Anthony: “I guess I have all the power. If I really wanted to get out of this situation I could have waived that no-trade clause. But I’ve stuck with it and I’m still sticking with it. I don’t know, maybe my loyalty has come back to bite me in the ass. As of right now, I am sticking to it.”
Q: What is keeping you loyal to the Knicks?
Anthony: “I wanted to be here. This is a place I wanted to be. This is a place where I envisioned myself, winning in New York.”

We Going on year 3. Someone's gotta pressure PHIL to do his Job. Melo like :yeshrug:

Breh is dillusional as fukk talking about contending, just say "I like living in NY cause everywhere else sucks and LaLa and the kids ain't moving either". Melo is not doing this for Basketball reasons.

fukk trying to seem like it's loyalty when he is trying to force Phil to build around him at age 32. He might as well say "trade those future first Phil". Apparently this year's draft sucks (fukk the raptors) but a smart argument could be made for tanking for that much better 2017 Draft class that people are comparing to the 2003 class already. Even if Melo stays I think the Knicks should tank, and signing tank commander Wroten is a sign Phil might think they same way to.

Just say the truth. I love New York City. shyt, a lot of people choose cities over everything else. People like what they like. I am like you, he needs to just say the truth. He loves NY too much

Why do people STILL think like this, after all of the times that it has failed our franchise?

I like Bazemore. I'd throw a deal at him, but I'm not interested in giving jennings any kind of money or years

I think Jennings is good and still youngish.

Homie I'm 100 percent sure PHIL told him in the free agent meeting that he was gonna build around him and get talent
an 17 team win season and a 30 win season, and 2 all time horrible coaches later, here we are.
Is melo wrong for wanting Phil to stay true to his word?

I just don't understand why PHIL isn't heyyihg more blame. He's doing a horrible job

I'm not hating on a dude who rather stay here & make an attempt to win instead of running to another team & making a super team.

I'm not hating on Melo breh. Dude is elite, but the knicks situation has been fukked for a while and Phil is the first GM in a while not kicking the can down the road to the next guy. As nice as Carmelo is going all in to build around a guy who is a season off of knee surgery and still is talking the olympics is typical knicks shyt

:scust:

Carmelo is 32, the Knicks still owe a pick to another team, and about 80% of the league is going to have decent cap money this year. The only hope this team had was to do decently enough this season to at least be in the playoff race to go to not have to overpay a player to make them more complete and continue to build. That didn't happen though
:francis:

As soon as Melo got injured that shyt went out the door, exposed Fisher for basically surviving off of Melo, and ended their hopes of not having to overpay.

:jbhmm:

I mean shyt Phil had to come out and say "we're not going to overpay any PG's":stopitslime:

because Melo went out there and said "I want Rondo":comeon:

Q&A with Knicks' Carmelo Anthony: 'I got to find something I can be comfortable with'

Also I read this whole article and yeah Melo sounds like he is 100% on either get a star for me next FA or I am out. That's going to help the knicks how?

:aicmon:
This is that typical CAA shyt:pacspit:

Right now the best option the knicks have is to try and still a RFA (H. Barnes, Bazemore), get a stopgap PG, and push the real PG chase to 2017.
