Kinda baffled why people are mad. I was about to say a lot of NY rappers dressed normal or "bummy" at the time but it was rappers in general. Ice Cube was rocking Champion sweaters, Dre was rocking black t-shirts..it wasn't a particularly flashy era when it came to clothes besides a few guys. So yea, Nas looked real different from Big and Jay in 1995 and even into some of 1996. And if you were a flashy hustler you weren't aspiring to look like a random dude rocking army jackets and timbs.

It is what it is lol. Nas' style changed later. This isn't a dig at Nas it's moreso a discussion about flash and image at a time when Pusha was putting the pieces together.

The 757 operates like 20 years behind the rest of America so I believe it

:childplease: Where you from? This ain’t accurate.

I’m from the dmv and went to school in Richmond (VCU). When I was down in Richmond the 757 cats were trendier and ‘cooler’ than the Richmond nggas (obviously :mjlol: ) but also the dmv cats :ehh:

Partly bc of the NY pipeline, which was for ‘other’ reasons . Pusha is originally from NY. Teddy Riley is originally from NY. Jay z always talking about ‘Virginia’ he was talking about the 757. ‘Ask teddy Riley bout me’

757 —-mainly VA Beach—-is also way more multicultural and with that is some more forward thinking hence all the unique artists from there. They was first to rock some Bapes. Was embracing skater shyt, etc. A lot of Filipino/asian influence. They aren’t really ‘southern’ at all outside of Norfolk

Rappers didn't really start rocking fly shyt til ~96 with a few exceptions. Camo fatigues and the like was standard early 90s fashion in nyc

You mean after the Dapper Dan era? because Dap (although not authentic) kinda put black Urban america on designer brands. LV, Gucci, MCM.. etc

NY was def fly early 80's to like 90 with designer. Dap got shut down and I think NY got more on Timbs and Army jackets nshyt.
