Pusha's friends sound like typical Jay stans I've encountered. You talk about MUSIC and they steer the conversation away to other shyt. Push was talking lyrics and they went straight to "Look how much money Jay has. Look at his clothes." Homo shyt really.
I was a JayZ "stan" when I was a teenager (hence I made the name Hov, just kept it from SOHH to the Coli where Im an old ass man who dont give AF enough to stan any rapper"

And I don't know where y'all from, but in DC I rememebr having to hide that I fukked with Jay in the late 90s. Like that shyt could get you shot in the wrong argument (we had no emotional intelligence so Big/Pac/Scarface arguments didn't really go over well all the time)

JayZ was considered a NY ass nikka and it was like bringing up Magic or Larry Bird in a MJ/Lberon debate

No cap I remember being with a bunch of nikkas who clowned a football player for like 30 hours str8 (I am seriously not exaggerating, it was from morning to night) and it started because he bought up JayZ name in a "who is the best rapper" convo - we were at a football camp and obviously they started talking about his mom, clothes, life, etc, but even when he went to his dorm he was on the 1st floor and they stood outside his window and still was firing jokes off. Like 2am. I put this on my life this happened LOL

But the worst thing was - I agreed with him. But :lupe: I ain't saying shyt bruh lol

All that to say - Pusha story makes sense, and it don't gotta make sense to you becuase everyone was young. The OGs we looked up too was born in the late 60s early 70s...

Not surprised

Drug dealers and street nikkas back in the 90s wasn’t into lyrical mcs and it was the flashy shyt they listen to and saw on BET AND MTV RAPS

nikkas saw Jay and Foxy chilling and rapping and they was like yeah thats us
Hell. Not just the 90s. This has always been a thing

This is crazy cause Push at no time in his career was ever looked at as a fly dude lol

Dudes iN VA said nas wasnt fly? But you had dudes in Harlem, Jim Jones and other hustlers at that same time say that was copying all Esco styles from day one. Specifically the army jackets

That tweet is just a Jay dikk riding post

Jay Z is aspirational, Nas appealed to the dude on the corner:yeshrug:Funny thing is Majesty (Stretch's brother) has a story of Jay Z saying he does not make music for broke dudes, while Nas says he makes music for everybody.

Nas the GOAT:umad:

I don't know about that, Timbaland is just one person, but he's 5 years older than Push. Timbaland said this in 1997:

"One of my favorite rappers, Nas Escobar, I listen to his tape, driving in my car"- Timbaland, "Up Jumps Da Boogie Remix".
