:russ: I get it. In 94 I got shamed for listening to

Wu
Tribe
Redman
Nas
Duck Down stuff
Outkast (imagine being from the south and being shamed for listening to outkast)
OC
Artifacts
Jeru
Pete Rock and CL Smooth
Gangstarr

shyt was still VERY regional. Radio was still ruling public perception. Music Videos hadnt caught up as far as broadening cats perspective as far as rap/hip hop goes. It was a weird time.

We went from "everything" to "only regional shyt" to "only west coast" to "only whats on the radio" to "only what the TV shows us" to.... "social media" some kinda way

Hell, before 1994, look at a Jet Magazine top 20 (if you can find one). Folks were listening to Tears for Fears, Boy George, Human League, whatever was good.

Im still till this day trying to figure out what happened. Musical tastes kinda got segregated, divided and then redistributed.
shyt I listened to all that and wasn’t clowned. I’m from Augusta Ga too. I also listened to tears for fears and them too :yeshrug:

No lies were told. Gnauze came out the womb dusty AF

Can’t blame the OG’s

While Nas was bussin BB guns at stray cats, Jay was trappin state to state all through the east

Seriously, who's boosting these cats??? Who told them what we're missing is the lame played out SOHH gimmick n it needs to make a comeback

All y'all are certified elders at this point. Move tf on

Everytime I see this trolling shyt I gotta check the yr n my age

And if you missed the sohh battles, you simply missed it. Ain't nobody interested in battling with you dweebs. We got greys now. You can't relive history

@FreshAIG you and your nerdy Board of Directors need to stop this shyt

Pusha's friends sound like typical Jay stans I've encountered. You talk about MUSIC and they steer the conversation away to other shyt. Push was talking lyrics and they went straight to "Look how much money Jay has. Look at his clothes." Homo shyt really.

this doesn't make much sense because by the time RD came out, Nas was in the IWW days and going into The Firm era
he was wearing high fashion in those times

sidebar but Push is corny with his hero worship of other rappers at his age.

had a song called What Would Meek Do.. like c'mon son. youre older than him for starters and two hes a fukkin idiot
now he's got his iced out version of the anchor chain Jay-Z had back when he was hustling.
Why do you nikkas get so offended when anythings said about Nas :dead:

I don't care when people say stuff about rapper I like
and I've always been a little bit of more of a Jay-Z fan than a Nas fan. thats my 1&2

I was just trying to bring a bit of common sense by pointing out that both of them were sort of on the same page around that timeframe

I fukk with Pusha but wtf is he even talking about here

:russ: :russ: :russ:

i get it. nas was talking to the streets, but he was really talking to the struggle of being young, black and poor in the hood. everything you see, not just pitchin. he was speaking to dudes on the corners for sure... cause that's definitely who started the army fatigues wave in my hood. but jay was different.

jay was talking directly to the hustlers. 100%. get money by any means type shyt, and reliving all the crazy shyt you have to go through as a result of that motto.

his OGs were explaining it to push in a really ignorant way lol. but i understand what they were trying to say, army jacket aside: reasonable doubt resonated with them more because of their lifestyle.
