This is one of the reasons I wanted fields. Fields didn’t have the exact same upside his ceiling is a little lower in someplace but higher in others but his floor was higher.

Plus, you saw fields do it against far superior talent. The quality of Lance’s competition always concerned me.
Yup. Wanted Fields. Fields is battle tested. He dropped for some reason. Might be attitude/personality. That kid would rock in this offense. We would also have saved the price we paid to move up.

Fields would have been gone before our original pick. Also we are not in dire need of picks. We are contenders already. Plus Justins Fields wasn't going to start in year 1. The only difference is he would be in the walking boot instead of Trey

Purdy has started 1 game. I hope he balls but there is way too much snap to judgement here. Trey was a backup last year. Why hold that against him?
If Purdy regresses and plays the rest of the season like crap, then sure, my opinion would change. But so far he's playing about as good as we've seen from Trey. I don't hold Trey's backup year against him, he just hasn't ever shown us anything to give him the keys to the car over Purdy so far.

I just think Trey was too much of a project for thr investment, that’s all. I see the talent. Can he put it all together? If he can we ballin.
This is what I'm saying. The production to investment so far hasn't been worth it. I hope he can live up to his potential and our investment and become a franchise QB, but he's already burned half of his rookie contract years. And a franchise QB shouldn't even be anywhere near "well he's not worse than the 3rd string last pick in the draft!" arguments.

Which player was drafted in our original pick slot again? :jbhmm:

But even if we accept the trade up, I would feel much better with Surtain or Chase actually contributing than Trey riding pine for 2 years. I don't think it's a unreasonable to think we might have a 6th Lombardi in our trophy case if we swapped Trey for either Parsons, Surtain or Chase last year.
And Fields is a more dynamic QB than Lance, so chances are he houses that run instead of ending up in a walking boot. :yeshrug: Kyle's use of Trey was uninspired but I'm not really sure Trey has shown yet that he has some suppressed production.

We are cool CB. We got great production out of our CB room as it is.

Justin Fields is playing on an awful Bears team but on bad teams QBs are going to get time to play. Justin was going to sit regardless. And if Trey wins a superbowl before Fields does it justify. Ultimately we can afford to let him sit get healthy and see what he can do next year. We are loaded enough to do that.

Doubtful, even if we needed to move up odds out we wouldn’t have had to move up as far to get a qb.

Fields is a better runner than Trey and protects himself better. Plus, I think Fields is more vocal and probably would of told Kyle he isn’t running qb power like that.

Exactly. I never understood taking a project in Lance over Fields, for a team that is built to win now.

The reason Purdy been as effective as he is, is that he's more nfl ready because he played for four years. Plus we're so starved for anything down the sideline after watching Jimmy.
Mullens started hot af too ( I do think Purdy > Mullens just off how he is in the pocket)

Kyle has failed to develop Lance so far. He trusts Brock more with passing plays but it's his job to develop Trey so he trusts him with passing too.

I just hope it's not a RGIII / Kirk situation all over again. shyt I heard Mike Shanahan was really high on Purdy in May too.

Word. I picture Fields saying FOH! with that. :pachaha: Trey is still that young acting gullible type. Eager to please.

If you’re going to make that kind of investment in a project you need to see it through. That’s the whole point. If you don’t have the patience then don’t draft a project.

The modern day nfl is not project oriented. A project is a year in this day and age, by the second year you have to be showing something. Lance got hurt sure but I’m year three they are going to expect a big leap and if that doesn’t happen and Purdy balls out in the post season then that project may come to an end even quicker

This is what I'm talking about...

Dudes just showed you they have the same damn stats.. But then also that lance next game was also great.. So Lance has not only showed you EXACTLY what Purdy has shown you... But he's shown it over more NFL games, more NFL practice, and did it for one more game more than Purdy.. But you talking bout "as effective as he is" like he's better

Y'all really watching 2 games and have deemed this man better, based on the same stats you seen from Lance. And as y'all say, Lance had WAY less college experience, so why is he on par with this guy if he was never developed?

People just hate on Lance... I wonder why

What did Lance cost and what did Purdy cost? :jbhmm:

Brock is more ready for NFL game right now, but hes NOT better than Lance and I never said he is. Please dont put words in my mouth.

I dont know why you talking about stats, Brock has just dominated a NFL defense for a half. I havent yet seen Lance do that or look comfortable in the offense. Kyle running him a ton is one of the reasons why.

Now, Brock will most likely crash and burn because hes simply not that good. The point I was trying to make is Brock is more refined and with a lot of experience and that's why he looks comfortable in a stacked offense. Lance is much more gifted but he still looks lost in the offense a lot, and that's on Kyle for not developing him. Kyle sucks at qb development besides maybe Cousins and thats debatable. Jimmy hasnt learned much under Kyle either.

Basically, I havent seen Kyle actually develop a QB much. He schemes things for them, but I havent seen them get the skills refined.
