Empire strikes back
If Seattle beats us twice with Jimmy as their qb, you have far worse problems to worry about it.And if Jimmy was gone and Trey struggles, team go 8-9, the same people wouldn't be calling him a bust and saying we should've kept Jimmy?
They cut Jimmy and he go to Seattle and they beat us week two, this fanbase not gonna meltdown? Especially if it's following a loss to Fields and the Bears?
Any time you got a first year starter on a team that's supposed to contend for a championship, there's pressure. A ton of it. If he's really that dude he'll gonna rise to the occasion
There's potential for this to cause weird vibes in the locker room and be a distraction, I said that a few pages back before they announced this. But also that I'd keep him a year on a restructure if he agreed to it. Up to Trey to take charge and dead the narrative
This Seattle narrative is horrendous. People are scared that a loaded team might lose to a shyt team with a mediocre at beat qb? Then why even play football if you're scared to release a mediocre qb?
This move simply shows that the FO is trying to ride the fence and/or hegde their bets. If you're swinging for the fences, you gotta ride with Trey and make sure he either swims or sinks.
Trey already been rolling his eyes answering some of the Jimmy questions.
And I don't get why the heat is on him and not Kyle/Lynch who handpicked him? Its their responsibility to make sure the situation around him is great. They just resigned a qb who was incumbent and loved by the teammates, and they have a bunch of big question marks on the interior oline.
