They could've used part of this 25m to give the money to a pro bowl guard they just let go, no? People are worried about Banks, guess what? They could've paid Tomlinson and not worry about it.

That is true with or without Jimmy's restructure. And we've all been complaining and shytting on the FO for being retarded regarding our OLine.

And the Alexsexuals was still bytching 5 years after he was gone. These same fanboys, Grant Cohn and Mike Florio would be going on and on about what a bad call it was to take Lance over Fields and how they should have kept Jimmy if they cut him. Even clowns like Cohn, who been the top Jimmy hater out there, would reverse course and say they shoulda kept Jimmy

Only way for Trey to shut these dudes up is to play well and do what Jimmy couldn't, win a Super Bowl in
Don't even get me started on the Alexesuals. Gabbert even had some fanboys. I personally wanted Fields and think Fields will be the better QB but I'll support Trey. He's going to have to ball out but I just feel having Jimmy there is unnecessary pressure. The kid has enough pressure as it is.

Dont like this at all. If Trey and the team starts out slow. There's going to be guys in that locker room clamoring for Jimmy to start.

I think Tomlinson would have cost too much to keep as he has been playing under market value BUT we should have brought in more proven veterans.

No it isn't. Until this restructure they couldn't spend money that was against the cap for this year even if they wanted to. They could've released Jimmy, pocketed 18m or whatever it was sans the injury money and spend it on a guard/center and a safety

The rams wouldve booted jimmy the moment the season was over and no one would trade for him, woulda eaten the cap hit with injury money and signed some proven guys in free agency. The rams arent afraid to bet everything on one strat and it paid off. This FO always double guessing their own moves and then you have shyt like choosing Jimmy over Brady and then keeping Jimmy around Trey when you seemingly already put all your eggs in one basket. It's frustrating af.

I felt the same way when the trade up happen I argued the hardest for Fields but when they choose Lance I was alright make it work Kyle but the situation with the o-line is setting up Lance to fail and we’re are going to hear the same stupid racist talking points about black qbs.

Everyone knew o-line was going to be a problem if you couldn’t get your second round guard on the field it is clear you made a mistake especially when a 6ft undrafted free agent and a rookie 4th round guard look clearly better than him.

And you let your best guard who played every fukking game amidst all the injuries, go. I mean, yeah he got a bag, but if you wanna help Trey you keep your good olinemen.

Exactly. We’ve seen Jimmy’s ceiling. Trey has to get the experience

But now they’ve opened up a horrible potential can of worms

I just hope @Jmare007 is right

One thing Ill give Jimmy props for is him being a consummate pro and not hearing a peep out of him to the media or leaked. If he can just stay in his place and not affect the locker room and Trey plays well enough this is a non-issue. Jimmy is prolly the best backup in the league. I just worry that him being present and if Trey starts off rocky, things can unravel fast.

fukking hell you can't be this obtuse :dead: I meant that Jimmy being with us till August 28th was a reality already so him getting the restructure today or getting cut today (or in the next few days) weren't going to give us Tomlinson because the FO already fukked that one up months ago.

No one is saying keeping Jimmy was the right call. EVERYfukkINGONE on this thread complained rightfully about management fumbling the Jimmy situation AND being fukking morons regarding our online.

The way I see it. I think Trey will play well enough to keep Jimmy off his back. But if he gets hurt we have QB thats a proven winner backing him up.
Yup. I think it will be a combination of Kyle sticking to his guns with Trey and him showing enough good stuff to continue to build forward with him and develop.

In that scenario, only injury or him being unplayable due to bad performances would take him out of the team. And I'm sorry, but if having Jimmy fukking G as your back up is "too much" to handle, then you deserve to get benched. fukking Alex Smith had 50k people in Candlestick chanting "we want Carr" and he was still able to recover from that. I don't buy for a single second this Jimmy stuff is some irreparable damage scenario waiting to happen to Lance.
