He didn't move three MILLION units just throughout the South breh.

Like I said we need new metrics for what constitutes a Hip Hop superstar nowadays. Things have changed even from Kendrick, Cole, and Drake's era. I don't have all the answers i'm just trying to add context to the conversation. What makes Lil Baby & Meagan Thee Stallion, despite their streaming numbers, heavy promotion, awards and general name recognition, NOT superstars compared to their predecessors?
meg not a superstar. Her albums never big. She got colossal hits with other artists helping to carry her. She a star but she don't crank out big numbers. Lil baby absolutely a superstar these nikkas dumb. Woah was a smash even had parents dancing with they kids, nikka got like 3 songs nearly diamond, triple plat after a year and still moving numbers like drake and kendrick doo. Sht i wouldnt be surprised if my turn 5x platinum at this point. Easily the most defining album of this generation

They conflating global icons to superstars. There's only like 7 global icons in hip-hop. The rest just superstars or beneath that.

that nikkas album doin 20k a week 2 years after it came out. He a mfin superstar

That doesnt prove anything. All that means is his fans are still bumping it. Can he sell out an arena? That's my criteria for a superstar.

He's 35 going on 36. Usually superstars start in their 20's and have their fanbases grow as they grow. I'm not saying it's impossible but it's not likely.
I could've sworn he was in his late 20s :ohhh:

None of these new rappers are super stars

Snoop Dog is a superstar, DMX was a superstar, nikka went into blockbusters movies off the strength of his persona

none of the artist are superstars, they not 50 cent, they are not a brand outside of music, they are barely celebrities

people talking about Cardi B, SHE OLD, her era is over she was hot 4-5 years ago

she has not grown into a superstar that was on Rihanna level, not even close

Nikki Minaj career is over, she a non factor

Kendrick was never a superstar, he was a rap star, the general public have no idea who Kendrick Lamar is, Everybody even white Grandma's knew who Snoop Dog was, know who Jay-Z is, know who Eminem is, know who 50 Cent is, these are superstars

Rap no longer makes Superstars

Don't forget to mention that all those guys had huge machines behind them for promotions and videos.

Labels are too cheap to invest in new artists to make then stars because music doesn't sell like it used to.

The labels are cheap because the artist don't generate the revenue they use to

they aren't superstars, they don't have any personas, or personalities, they aren't larger life

you don't even see rap crews like rocafella, or shyt like that anymore, that's a movement, these new nikkaz don't have it, they have low character, they don't rap about shyt, they ain't got nothing to rap about and they can't rap

When these new rappers die nobody driving motorcades through they city, Biggie only had one album before he died and was a cultural icon

these nikkaz suck, black music is dead, ain't even no fun music, where the happy music at, where the music at showcasing black love

it don't exist

THEY SOUL HAS BEEN SUCKED OUT OF BLACK PEOPLE, NEGROPEANS
