I never heard that from Sony. What you're saying makes sense, I just never heard it.
I can't imagine it would be impossible since the Galaxy phone doesn't need a camera to track your movement. (Even though the phones have a gyroscope so thats different).
If what you're saying is accurate I wonder how far back can you look? (Or if it would really make a difference.)
Some reviewers have talked about it

The headset has a gyroscope, but the camera helps with tracking and you need it for the move controllers, so when you turn around you lose the effectiveness of the camera and jankyness ensues.

I have a Vive, and VR is very different from Kinect. with VR you are in the game, not just interacting with it
fukk does this even mean?:mjlol:

You're not in the game on some futuristic tron type shyt. You are still interacting with the pixels as you always have.

And besides

With Kinect you are not just interacting with the game, you are in it

I don't like the move controllers at all so I have no interest in any game that requires me to use them.
I'm fine with the controller in hand. I would just like to be able to turn my head and see the environment around me as if I were actually in the game.

There's games for the VR that in general you'd just ignore but when playin in VR, it's completely different. Simple games are completely different. You just literally have to try it when it comes out. No amount of text/videos, respected opinions, @Ciggavelli or w/e can show you how good something is in VR.
I hear you. I'm not saying I won't give it a shot at all. I'm just not excited about having it day one the way I was for the PS4 or for the 360.

A lot of games still use the light on the controller for tracking.

Have you used any VR headset before? I've used that trash Samsung Galaxy Gear Headset plenty of times and the experience is NOTHING like watching a TV. Even with those horrible graphics the level of immersion can't be compared to a television. Its not the same by any stretch. I'm not understanding how you can logically compare the 2 at all. This "PSVR is the same as a regular TV with Kinect" in front of it talk is straight :why:.
@Ciggavelli you've probably used VR more than anyone on here.
What do you think? Is using a TV with Kinect going to be the same experience as PSVR?
completely different experience. VR is the shyt with the right games. I love my OR (the Vive not as much, cuz of all the shovelware). I expect the PSVR is be my second favorite VR headset (behind the OR). But to answer your question, no, it's nothing like a TV with a kinect (which I also have).

shyt is really immersive with the right games (shyt even with third person games it works well, if the game is good enough). The kinect was a gimmick (but I still use it on my X1S and like it for the convenience), VR is not

The Original Rec Room Gang
both of them combined yeah... but you're still met with the same constraints and governing principles of play lol
That would apply to anything you play tho :francis: If you add in what these two mediums bring to the table, it makes it so you don't need to have as much space as you claim. It defeats the purpose of VR if you needed too much space imo. Gears of War VR coming soon :banderas:

yall try to break this shyt down, and just loose all the nuance. a TV strapped to your face doesn't give you stereoscopic 3D with depth perception. it also doesn't change the positional audio depending on your orientation. these are the factors that come into play when I say it puts your "in the game". the sense of scale is also very different from looking at a screen. shyt is crazy when you got life-sized zombies coming for you
