Yeah, I'm not crying over this.

I got mednafen via Retroarch on various devices for PS1 games, and I still have my PS2 and PS3.

Wake me up when it doesn't do PS4 games :snooze:

Random internet nikkas got a PS3 working on relatively weak hardware. Sony has a working emulator in the cloud that’s how psnow works.

It’s a long running Sony stan myth that cell was just too powerful/difficult to emulate. When in reality Sony just wants to sell remasters and psnow subscriptions.
Kind of a weird take. PC emulators don't have to go for full accuracy, Sony would be aiming for that. Which considering how the Cell runs would probably raise the cost of the console. Sure they could port some type of RCPS3 software joint to it but it's not what would be expected from a company that owns the architecture.

No emulator is perfect. Some inaccuracies would be expected. Again random people on the internet have a very respectable working emulator that you don’t need a top of the line computer to use. Sony could do it if they wanted, and no it wouldn’t raise the cost of the console.

How do you know this :dead:

RCPS3 is open source and have people able to comment to its development at their leisure. Generally with no development costs. You can't account for that cost in a console. Not every game works on RCPS3 and those that do sometimes have glitch guides that are long to read. Microsoft has the advantage here that all of their consoles are based in DirectX so they put a team together to get this working. Sony's stratgey is to stream through customs hardware. To make this work they would have to add hardware to the PS5 which would raise cost. As I said though PS2 and PS1 is doable.

Only what 5 percent maybe 10 percent want backwards compatibility. You have emulators and you can buy a ps1, ps2 and ps3 all together for less than a PS5 if you wanted too.

You mean like this thing they had no problem selling to the massive for 100 bucks completely unoptimized.

The overall issue is sony can make more not worrying about back compat while reselling the same games, remakes and franchise in the future. Therefore the "fanbase" hold the L. Only the stan's don't really care because they love the brand and image and those that do want improved services gotta just hope for the best...

I'm not excusing Sony for PS1 or PS2 read my post. Just the PS3. Plus some of that emulation was trash too, I don't have one though :mjlol:
