This, coupled with the GPU that's rumored to be significantly more powerful than Durango, and Sony has gone with a very proficient, powerful, and simple design that I don't think Microsoft is quite matching

Think about the Playstation library. Possibly over 20,000 you can access anytime by just paying a monthly subscription. Also, they don't charge you to use netflixs that you already paid for. They also don't charge you for using the bing browser.

btw...the GDDR5 HAS to be the actual gpu. Not system ram. I am sure the 720 will also have GDDR5 on their GPU...its a stupid argument at this point as final specs are not out.

Both will have DDR3 system memory

ps4 has better ram and gpu...durango is going to have a good os with doing alot of back ground stuff... both systems are going to be good regardless for both sides

Vita I believe reserves about 256 MB and it pretty much has all the features Sony looks to be trying to hit -- cross game chat, psn store mid game, browser mid game, etc.

Sony's OS is going to be pretty simple with features most gamers will care about.

I think MS is going to go all out on OS features (where having 8 gb of ddr3 helps tremendously), with win 8 tie ins, perhaps some unique video recording abilities, and quite a bit more multi tasking during gaming sessions (perhaps stuff like pulling up cable tv mid game or split screen). Their hardware design seems to reflect that - great for accomplishing a lot of various tasks, but not completely devoted to gaming as the overwhelming priority.

Sony on the other hand looks to be positioning their console power priorities almost entirely on what will affect gaming performance.

Until they confirm full backwards compatibility I won't put my bets on anything. You are speculating what either of these companies will do at this point and thats not the route to take.

My bet is that NEITHER will have full backwards compatibility as they are trying to make sure to keep getting that money in by people moving to digital.

I've played 150+ retail games, have 250+ XBLA games...but I can count on one hand the amount of original Xbox games I played during this entire generation...Halo 2, Fuzion Frenzy, Super Monkey Ball, GTA:SA.

And while XBL is a mere pittance to pay for, and I have felt that it's always been worth it...PS+ and the temporarily free games are pretty damn sweet. I'm envious.

All that said, I do get a kick of the retroactive dominance PS3 had this gen
