I think theres a very real discussion to be had about toxic masculinity, misogyny, and how in the YOoL 2020, Black Women are still very objectified by a European Standard of Beauty.
After a discussion with my girl, that last point is something that Ive realized as a man, i will never understand.
Lets keep it 100: Men are largely able to create value based off of their wit, intellect, wealth, success with physical attractiveness largely not mattering. Whereas even in modern times, post feminism, post women in the work place, the more attractive a woman (which is largely based on Euro standards), the more shes able to manuever through life.
Ive been a professional worker for about 10 years now, and id be a liar if i dont see it happen. So imagine being a woman where you notice every instance of being judged based on your looks (in addition to race, religion, etc).
WITH THAT SAID
I consider it one of the greatest victories of White Supremacy, that Black Women think this sort of plight is unique to Black Women.
Ive been raised around cacs most of my life (dad was an army vet). So lemme tell you, Cacs hate their women. DESPISE them.
Ive never seen a group of men be so emasculated by the slightest bit of individuality and independence. Especially if its sexual.
For fun insight, go to any barstool sports IG meme featuring a beautiful cac woman and the most liked post will 90% of the time be some white frat boy shytting on the chick in the post. I guarantee it.
It really is a grass aint always greener scenario. Due to the socioeconomic history of Black folks, YES, things like domestic violence probably does skew higher along with familial abandonment.
But on the other side of that? With Cacs and Arabs and Asians? They expect pure submission from their women. They beat their women, their women just dont report it. They dont want their women to work or have a presence in the household. They are FAR more judgmental of sexual history, out of wedlock children, and body types.
Whereas Black Men IMO and from my perspective, are much more open to individuality, independence, curves, women with kids and yes even body counts (despite what the coli perpetuates).
Things are far from perfect, but its *problematic* in my opinion to contextualize misogyny as JUST the moral failings of Black Men and not men in general.
