My stance has always been, as a black man, we have to do better. I appreciate the black women that have been standing up for us, and do think we could stand to listen to their issues in regards to us.

I liked the idea of each and every black man taking a look at how we protect those that are in immediate relationships with us individually, and working from there.

I don't know about protect per say but respect should absolutely be the standard.

Back when I used to take public transportation, on more than a few occasions I had men size me up and offer their seats for me. Meanwhile there's an older woman carrying bags standing nearby who they completely ignored!

Anyway, that's why I thank God for my daddy. He had so much respect for women and even as a little girl, I felt so proud of his display of true masculinity when he never stopped opening doors for ladies even when some of them didn't bother to thank him. Little things like that stood out to me.

Too many men nowadays reserve their respect for women they're attracted to, and as a man you emasculate yourself if you allow external factors to dictate the standards you should set for yourself.

Disagree. Its up to educated, conscious and financially secured Black men to steer the wheel. Women will naturally follow along. The Black community is a matriarchy but its one that is in chaos. But.... This will take a lot of time.
