You're right. DR ain't shyt. I can't believe people expect them to be able to handle such a large immigration from Haiti.

They should just close their borders and get their shyt together.:troll:

The Dominican Republic has the ninth largest economy in Latin America, and is the largest in the Caribbean and Central American region. It is an upper middle-income[7] developing country primarily dependent on agriculture, mining, trade, and services.

be proud of your countries backwardsassness :snoop:then they complain about their politicians and fail to realize that their entire society is corrupt :umad:

corruption is not unique to the Dominican Republic; however, if Trayvon Martin was living in DR, he would've got Justice and Mike Brown too :sas2:

mining, trade and services :mjlol:the truth would be remesas, money laundering and drug trafficking. the entire construction boom in the country is either due to drug fueled money laundering schemes or credit based mega projects the government uses to skim money into their pockets.

being born in DR only makes u a citizen if documentation is filed. idk whats so difficult to understand about this. they arent deporting them if they have documentation. when my mother was born in DR in 1963, she didnt get her birth certificate or paperwork in order for years. when my father married her and tried to bring her to the states with him, she had trouble. even though she was dominican born to dominican parents who were born to dominican parents.

I'll play fair. Found this about the new law that was passed after international outrage:

Under a bill presented by President Danilo Medina, children born to foreign parents could be citizens, provided they have Dominican government identification documents and are in the civil registry.

Those without documents could apply for legal residency and eventually citizenship if they can prove they were born in the Dominican Republic, something human rights groups said could be difficult for many people who lacked the awareness to seek or keep birth certificates or other records.

http://nytimes.com/2014/05/23/world...sses-law-for-migrants-children.html?referrer=

With that said:

1. I still maintain that the 2013 ruling should've never happened. That was a big can of worms that the country is suffering from image wise today, despite the new law.

2. It's very clear, imo, that there is a strong faction of politicians / elite today that want people of Haitian descent, Dominican or not, out. The 2013 ruling and even this new law is proof of such. They know damn well that a lot of those who were born in the DR but don't have the paperwork to prove it will have a very tough time proving that they indeed were. A lot of those folks will be deported. A small few will become naturalized, a step below where they were before. The rest will become foreigners in their own country for the rest of their lives. As for their children, being that birthright citizenship is no longer available, who knows.

be content with corruption then blame your problems on haitian immigration dominicans
whats your point?

87 people dead in 6 months period, in the US they have killed about 500 last time I heard...

police killings is not unique to DR, whats your point?
that your claim is a hilarious lie and neither trayvon nor mike brown would have gotten justice in the dr, because impunity for police violence is rampant.
the us has 319.000.000 inhabitants, 500 police killings makes 0,000015 % inhabitants killed by the police, the dominican republic has 10.4 million inhabitants, 87 killings is a quota of 0,000084% of inhabitants. if you want to compare numbers, that's how you should do it and the dr is looking way worse than the us.
