Some of you are missing the point and making it about the naacp. Its not about them. Its about Obama shytting on Black people for politics. This is not the first time he has done this. Its really sad that we don't have any real options. If you don't vote it helps the racist ass repubs. I'm not a fan of Obama but I will end up voting for him because Romney worse. Black people have to get more involved in primaries and vote for candidates that will work to better communities.

how is obama shytting on black people? he helped get rid of those monstrous mandatory crack sentencing guidelines while in office. blacks are suffering from staggeringly high unemployment, and obama has been one of the most vocal proponents of extending unemployment. fukk the naacp. fukk these opportunistic whiners who haven't done jack shyt for the black community but make us look like victims.
Once again small minds can't process the big picture. It's not just the fact that he blew off the event, which in itself is stillworthy, but it's his reasoning, or that of his advisers, which is to not be seen at events that are "too black."
When it gets to the point where you're basically selling out for votes that are never coming (if a white person think Obama going to "black" events is an issue, they aren't going to vote a black man in as President anyway), maybe it's time to step back and reevaluate why you want the job to begin with.

It's pretty clear Obama ain't on board with the Jesse Jacksons, Al Sharptons, NAACP, and other ambulance chasers out there who do nothing to help the community. No wonder they support him but not nearly as fanatical as they did Clinton, who basically gave them the attention they wanted. You are right. I was talking about the NAACP as national organization. On the local level there are still a lot of good people, including my grandmother and grandfather RIP who worked with them through their church and did a lot of good things. I should have clarified.
What's even worse is black folk who are Obama apologists. My homie is one of them. People who will never grade him objectively because they're still enamored with his status as the first black president. Saying shyt like... "He shouldn't have to be defined by the fact that he's African American". It was all good in 2008 though huh?

What y'all don't understand is that Obama is not just the black peoples President. He is ALL the people's president. And rather you like it or not without support outside the black community he could not be successful. We as black people are a minority and there is nothing Obama or any other President can do about that. So when making policy decisions he would be failing as a president if he picked any one minority and concentrated on it. He has not "shytted" on anybody. He has really tried to help the lower and middle class, not just black folks. For those of y'all saying fukk the NAACP that is the type of orginization y'all should support if y'all want somebody to concentrate on black people's issues. Why are y'all not going to their events and supporting them?
I am so sick of people saying this dumb fukking line. True he is the president of all people in the US but he caters to people whose votes he covets except for black people. He continues the Democratic Party habit of taking the black vote for granted because "Where else are they going to go" but he bends over backwards to appease the gays/Latinos/women/insert any group but black folks and that is bullshyt.
He has done just as much for black people as he has for other people on the policy side. And he has spoken out for black people when it might not have been a smart move politicaly (Trevon Martin). Black people are probably less than 15% of the vote. if he was to just concentrate on that 15% he would never be elected. He needs those gay/Latina/women votes in order to get in office to help black people or anybody else. If Obama got on tv everyday talking about black People this and black people that do you think he would get any white votes? We are lucky white people have accepted him as he is. But if he turned into the black people crusader they would probably find a way to impeach his ass.

If you sick then go lay down but it's the truth. There is no possible way he can accomplish anything by pandering to the black vote exclusively or more than other group.
We are a minority. No president, black, white can pander to any specific minority (ethnic, economic, etc.) and expect to be president very long. Hell, or even expect to be president PERIOD.
You want a black president who is accused of not even being American...who is accused of being a Muslim that believes in the radical teachings of a christian Reverend, to cater specifically to black people during a reelection campaign?
