he's not a black president. he's an american president. if he feels as if the naacp turns off some of his constituency, why go there? he's in the midst of a contention re-election bid, making it imperative that he be mindful of his entire base -- of which blacks are not the only members. while i more than recognize how racially stratified we are as a society, i am not a fan of racial politics, and the naacp represents "black leadership" that i don't approve of. so, good on obama.
