Dallas, Texas but living in Houston, Texas
I'd rather see that money spent on real infrastructure before "AI infrastructure". Fix these crumbling bridges and roads, update and expand city metro systems, expand the EV charging network, invest in renewable energy, build high speed rail.
You think the government is supposed to do things to help the average American citizen such as fix infrastructure and expand public transportation?!:hhh:

The companies themselves are saying they going to spend 100 billion within 4 years. They plan to go up to 500 billion. Not even including government money yet. Of course the government will start spending but the real need for tech is deregulation.
These companies and Trump are full of it.

Why are the rate payers in SC and GA on the hook for Billions of dollars for two Nuclear plants. Only one of which is actually operational. I worked in the Energy Industry before and these Utilities don't pay for anything using their own money. So I doubt these AI companies will either.

Timeline: How Georgia and South Carolina nuclear reactors ran so far off course

Their goal is to rush to general artificial intelligence.

The belief is that we're already here technologically we simply DO NOT have the power to power a machine that'll
bring us there and get us over the edge.
The bet is that disrupting the flow of chips to China and bolstering domestic manufacturing means we'll
maintain our technological edge:

They know we're falling behind technologically, China due to being a socialist government is graduating hundreds of thousands
of engineers every fukking year and they're PUTTING THEM WORK on huge government works projects, allowing to enter industry,
spurring the growth of private enterprise etc.

Due to the nature of how our educational system works, we can't match the workforce they're creating.
This is where H1B comes in and the desire to get as many indians and other asians here as fast as humanly possible, including the chinese :pachaha:

Also, our economy isn't doing nearly as well as China's so one way to artifically bolster our economy is to mimic the socialist approach while still
staying capitalist, so they throw out fukking shyt tons of government contracts to private enterprise.

You still get your "Planned economy" but you (supposedly) get the benefits of a "market".

We're (the taxpayer) basically footing the bill.

Elon Musk for example is immensely rich due to both government contracts AND his company growing enough
to get on the fortune 500.
Because so many of the American retirement and investment vehicles are based on index funds, Musk basically created a giant
feedback loop that enriches him at a ridiculous rate.

He gets contracts for all of his companies except for X (I think it's just x that doesn't have government contracts, I could be wrong!)
Then his company has it's stock regularly purchased by indexes, pushing up the price, all while barely adding anything of value.
At least the older companies on the fortune 500 from Defense to Pharmaceuticals create tangible, public impacting products.

The money is so obvious and the plays so lucrative that tech is now pushing further into contracting to try to beat out traditional defense firms.
So Lockheed, General Dynamics, Raytheon, Northrop Grumman etc. are all going to be competing against firms whose bread
and butter is computing.

A realm defense is notoriously behind in.

This next decade is going to show that much of our economy will really cluster around a handful of companies and the American
people will suffer as the middleclass continues to shrink and that top 20% or so (has their wealth) grow exponentially.

I feel blessed to be apart of that top 20% but due I also see how royally fukked up it is right now and how it'll only get worse.

The deindustrialization and financialization of America to enrich the pockets of a few at the expense
of the American people while creating your greatest "foe" has to got be one of the top ten gaffs of all of
Human History.

The world was handed to them on a platter after WWII and they fukking squandered it.

Now they're scrambling with all kinds of defense based contracts and so many big tech minds are focusing their
efforts there from Microsoft to Anduril to Palantir to Google etc.

I feel like most of TheColi is too busy watching balloon popping shows and other such bullshyt to even realize whats going on.
It is useless ultimately. Other communities be on the ycombinator forum and read physics stuff for fun even if they just work at a card shop. Just popped into a black podcast on twitch and breh was trying to breakdown how math is taught to kids today and everyone else did the trying to be “down” thing where it’s like “look at this nikka thinking he knows something” and just laughed when he was trying to be informative. We just do not care collectively

Just gotta talk about general black fukkery here. Too busy arguing with each other thread to thread

We not even close to ready for their parallel societies and network states and ZEDEs. We still looking at 50-50 provider podcasts

There is titanic battle waging over this whole AGI thing right now.

We're in a cold war right now and it's a bipartisan effort, much of TheColi is very engulfed in culture war bullshyt.
This is the real war that's happening, a war of capital vs. the people.

We are in very crazy times right now and the technological advancements are about to get fukking
stupid fast in the next ten to fifteen years.

Other communities apart of the communities being fukked atm.

The vast majority of Americans Black, White or otherwise simply are not equipped due to capital
having a stranglehold on how education is done in this country.

Black communities have an issue that is exacerbated by both racism AND capitalism.

The podcast shyt feels like blatant cointelpro to me and is meant to distract.

We even have goofy robots like zuckerberg talking about "masculine" and "feminine" and Elon musk
throwing up seig heils.

That's being talked about more than our ailing/failing infrastructure, increased defense expenditure and
abandoning of the American people in dawn of the 4th industrial revolution.

Im pretty confident musk will push for EV infrastructure for Tesla's sake.

But I don't know how that will jive with the Republican oil interests at Exxon, marathon, etc with more money than him.
