Elon Musk is clashing with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman over the Stargate artificial intelligence infrastructure project touted by President Donald Trump, the latest in a feud between the two billionaires that started on OpenAI’s board and is now testing Musk’s influence with the new president.

Trump declared it “a resounding declaration of confidence in America’s potential” under his new administration, with an initial private investment of $100 billion that could reach five times that sum.

You hoard profits to redistribute them to shareholders and company leadership.

The profits are still being hoarded instead of being used to retain workers via across the board pay raises and investment in new projects. It's not being used to make products cheaper(think about the fact that despite the games industry smashing sales records, consoles and games are only going UP in price)

Because they can literally be sued for failing to deliver dividends and increased share value, they see workers as a cost that can be cut.

AI can replace an entire department, the money which would have paid that department will be used for stock buybacks to make the company look more profitable than it is.
