I do not understand why anyone squats outside of a rack. What’s the purpose?
This is why Cain Velasquez was always injured. I remember seeing him in a training vid going wild on one of those and was like that explains everythingthis is one of the worst exercises for your knees
Because it puts an insane amount of unnecessary stress on your knees. They're not built to do what the machine requires you to do. Only leg "machine" you should use is the leg press.I usually just used that for my legs... I dont know why you say its worst for your knees...

That's called a monolith and is used in a lot of competitions.
Being in a rack wouldn't have saved his knees or muscles from being shredded.
