when rangers can die, the story is immediately better for it
Its funny how the show focused on Tommy/Jason, but the comics made it known that Zach had next and was arguably a better leader than both. Knew everyone's limits better than Jason, and wasn't putting everything on the line like Tommy.Word. And it showed them becoming friends and forging relationships and being a bit more complex. Much like the comics

Rita knew that Zordon was with his ranger selections and played that card too. She really gave Zach the NBA free agent treatment up on the moon. Who knows how things would've went if Trini didn't lock him down.
