I think the people this was going to appeal to were likely already inclined to back him in the first place. This isn’t like Clinton peeling off a few republicans who were on the fence.

To be fair, I don't know anything about this guy. But I've said before, the Republican propensity to nominate lunatics could have a huge effect in the 24 Senate race.
None of the swing or purplish states are GOP guaranteed if they keep nominating the Blake Masters/Herschel Walker types.
