One of the fundamental problems with American political commentary is the mainstream media's treatment of the GOP as if they are still Reagan's Republicans. Ronald Reagan would not make it out of a GOP primary today.
Almost everything post Newt Gingrich's "Contract with America" has been a shyt show, but to avoid being called bias, the media still has to make their increasingly ridiculous "Both Sides" arguments. And they are doing this in vain because the people they are trying to convince will never see the mainstream media as legitimate.

Between them getting some NY seats back due to Santos' fukkery and new seats being created due to this, I wonder if it's enough for Dems to regain the House in 2024.
AOC is considered annoying partly because the Right deliberately focuses their base on her in the same way they have tried to demonize Nancy Pelosi all across the country.
Issue for issue, her political views are surprisingly close in line to what most Americans say they want on polls. And she is actually very smart on policy, which is one of the many reasons she should not be compared to the numbskull GOP extremists in the House.
Also, a lot of her critics on the right seem to have a weird obsession with her because they want to hate fukk her.

I just mean her personality annoys me. I'm no fan of "tax the rich" to solve our issues. It's such a bumper sticker statement. And yes, the media gives her the boogyman theme that's unwarranted.
She is politically smart. She's nowhere in the same stratosphere as Gaetz.
