This shyt has literally never worked for republicans. Giuliani tried it in 2008 and failed. Rick Perry tried it in 2012. Jeb tried it in 2016. If you win early you tend to win later, and if you lose a lot early you tend to lose a lot later. Trump will likely lose Iowa again, might lose NH but after that? He's gonna be cruising. Trump's path is gonna be similar to Biden and Hillary's: lose in Iowa and then sweep the south. If that's the case, DeSantis won't be able to recover.
The last thing you want is a scenario where you lose a lot and then your home state becomes your Alamo.
