I got the KrK Rokit 8 Monitors, a Macbook Pro, Logic Pro, Fl Studio 12, Focusrite 2i2 Audio Interface, a Vinyl Player, Akai MPK61, and upgraded from the MPC Renaissance to the MPC Touch. I currently have a dual boot, I got Windows 8 and Mac OS on my Macbook, I make beats on both Logic Pro (Mac), and Fl Studio 12 (Windows).

so the mpc touch is an upgrade?

Forgot all about this thread. I was just lookin at getting some new gear for the studio but pretty much have everything I need. Im just gonna keep stacking for my studio build in my garage. Im gonna convert the garage into a full studio with a decent sized booth and control room. I already have all the hard wood flooring and the glass for the booth window.

According to one of his instagram posts, it's definitely an upgrade.

"Just copped the new MPC Touch for $799.99. This thing brought the inner kid out of me, I feel like a little kid opening presents on Christmas morning. I'm already loving this machine. Def a great upgrade over the MPC Renaissance.#mpctouch#akaimpctouch"

How do you like the MPC Touch? Doesn't it have a built-in audio interface? If so, how does it measure up against the 2i2?

I haven't tried the audio interface on the touch because the volume control for that is set up behind the unit, also it's a USB 2.0 device and I have a usb 3.0 on my laptop. Akai's products have audio glitches with the USB 3.0, there are a lot of complaints about that on Google. That's why I have the focusrite Scarlett 2i2 instead of using the audio interface on the MPC Touch. I've heard that it is a good quality interface tho

I'd say its def a upgrade over the Renaissance. The Touch Screen feature alone is a game changer. Although it isn't standalone, the fact that you can do everything on the unit without having to switch over to your mouse to click on something on the software is beneficial. I found that with the MPC Renaissance I had instances where I still had to use my mouse and keyboard to rename files or click on something. On the touch I can rename tracks, projects, etc all on the device.

I also found that the pads are more thicker and responsive on the Touch compared to the Renaissance.

I 'preciate the quick response. As far as the audio glitches goes, I'll keep that in mind when I shop for a new laptop in a few days, 'cause I just copped the MPC Touch and a Roland FA-06 a few days ago. All of my gear should arrive by Thursday.
