Okay Op I appreciate your willingness to bring this important topic to a discussion however you have to stop with the trauma porn horror show when posting these threads. It’s distracting from the cause.

Secondly I read your article about the black woman getting the Jackson Airport contracts (Good article) but that doesn’t have to do with the SBA section 8 program that’s in the OP. Atlanta got federal money for construction of its airports and the Atlanta commission awarded her a contract. Atlanta will always award black people contracts considering their voting power and economic strength.

I don’t believe this ruling changes City or state based contract accumulation. I can’t speak for other states but NY gives a lot of small contracts based on community development and impact. Essentially a black owned business increases their chances of winning a contract if they can show community impact (helping out the hood).

Bigger and more grandiose contracts usually need a councilman or state representative to assist them with that. Last time I checked I doubt this ruling will stop people like Hakeem Jeffries (8th district) or Jamaal bowman (16th district) for advocating for black businesses or black business contracts.

I’m just saying this to stop with the doom and gloom. The black middle class will not vanish that easily. You are already seeing changes in colleges and universities on how they plan on tackling this (Class approach + community investment recruiting, etc). The SBA will do something similar
ATL and DC have run into problems with awarding of contracts based on race. This is what I'm saying.

Its about to get nasty out here and this is a sign of things to come whether or not this specific program is at play

Yes it IS this serious.

This Supreme Court case is about to become more relevant.

This is also why I say reparations is about to tank. They're not going to award it.

In Croson v Richmond they already said that giving out black contracts was illegal and that was 30+ years ago. Now they're coming for programs designed for MINORITIES. It's not even "black" at this point.

YOU

ARE

WRONG

At what point do YOU admit you were wrong?

The language for FBA set asides needs to be right, so that one couldn't feasibly argue it down. The language was never right, and always included a bunch of people that didn't deserve anything, which led to the current situation of legislation being easily struck down. The bill always comes due when you don't set it up right.

Both sides set, p*ssy.
This was never an FBA program and theres no political capital to rewrite an entire program to "set" this up when black people were barely getting 5% of contracts in the first place.

This was for all minorities and now thats about to completely disappear because they're changing the standards of proving the value and relevance of being a minority.

They're not going to change it to the way you think. They'll just get rid of it altogether. You all are getting too gassed with this FBA/ADOS thing if you dont think they wont just do the most obvious thing and abolish it from jump. They're not about to go to the table and make something 99% for people who were only getting 2-5% of it in the first place.

Not disrespect but you are not seeing the bigger picture. This is actually the second lawsuit within a couple years that was won on the same premise. Legally this opens to the door to anyone filing lawsuits from a federal all the way down to the local level.

This is such an important story that we need a better messenger.

Spamming the front page with tough-to-read links is not the way. You need to put up one clear, cohesive message, and then let other posters react to it organically. When someone sees other people they respect reacting a certain way, they tend to align themselves with that message. If all they see is a poster they can't stand dominating the whole page, they just gonna scroll through most of the page and have a more negative impression.

On top of that, all the pot-shots attacking people who you want to be on your side aren't going to help at all.

go bytch to the "minorities" that vote republican at higher rates. Yall come find majority black places and bytch to black people that vote democrat like breathing. Even black people that bytch about democrats all day vote democrat. All this "vote harder" shyt is pointless.

Black turnout in the 2016 election was just 59%. In last year's midterms, it was just 42%. Just because Black folk ain't voting for Republicans dorsn't mean that the Democrats have been getting folk to vote for them either. You're talking like everyone shows up and that ain't close to true.

Difference between OP and me is that he blames Black people for that, while I think the democrats have been doing a ton to leave votes on the table.

that changes nothing i said. Go bytch to people THAT ARE VOTING republican.

or do something to get black voters to the polls. the shaming, finger wagging, and threats aren't working. for people to claim to be so politically savvy, people sure do dumb shyt.

Also, while all this is going on we don't hear a peep from the democrats that are elected about this stuff. The guy from my district Emanuel Cleaver be out here talking bout all kinds of other shyt. Mainstream democrats get out here fighting LGBT and Sanctuary City fights. Then people get out here lecturing black people who get ignored about "voting harder".

makes zero sense.

The Atlanta Airport thrives on black contracting businesses. Entire black cities were developed by these contracts and the network effects of businesses to meet all needs of the supply chain.

This is a direct attack on black economic success and prosperity...and you're calling it fukkin FEAR PORN?

mind you, black people already only get PENNIES of SBA 8(A) grants and now you want us to get less of money designated for minorities????

:gucci:
YOU PUT A LOT OF WORDS IN MY MOUTH I DID NOT SAY...ALL I SAID WAS CALM DOWN.

black success is more than the sba..yes, its bad. But all im saying is calm down...we will figure it out.
