Unfortunately, unless we're all ready to admit that Russia helped Trump win (which some in HL still won't admit to) then we have to admit that there are far more stupid people than "regular" people in this country :manny:
Yeah, totally disagree. Russia had no tangible effect on the election and no one has proved otherwise. And I believe trickle down economics is bullshyt. So not everyone fits into the boxes you are putting them in.

This is the shyt I been telling them

"fukk the winter...I'm doing it MY WAY and we gonna win" - Napoleon when his generals said that trying to go for Russia in the winter would not be a wise move

Ya'll can say that progressives are the move to make but any progressive that won't acknowledge the racism, sexism and vitriol on the right in this country is no better than those Dems you nitpick on. And say his fukking name: TRUMP.

But deep down in a place you don't want to admit, you know damn well if that candidate did that:

Bye bye Florida
Bye bye Michigan
Bye bye Pennsylvania
Bye bye Iowa
Bye bye Ohio
Bye bye Wisconsin

BYE BYE ELECTION
It's like some people would rather be right than win. There are a lot of isms effecting society, talking about them in the public square hasn't and doesn't do shyt. How many 'conversations about race' are needed before people realize they are worthless? People aren't honest in public forums about the subjects. So yeah let's keep it to a minimum as a strategy and address policies people can get behind.

And that's fine

That makes you a "regular person"

You are unfortunately outnumbered and that's why we are where we are right now

If what you're saying is true, Beto wins on Tuesday, Rick Scott gets the boot, and Scott Walker says adios, etc.

But I don't think that's happening, and that's even with what looks to be a massive voter turnout

So there are less regular people than irregular ones? Hmm . . . I think you need to reread the definition of regular. lol

How you gonna ROFL with a hollow back?
Harris/Warren, Warren/Moulton, Warren/Beto, Harris/Beto, or any combo with these names are the closest we will come to That Kennedy feel, and this country needs that (preferably a Robert feel) to heal the nation. We need unity, kindness, wisdom, charisma, and real leadership.

There is no chance that any woman wins in 2020.

The ticket may not win even if a woman is VP.

Why do people keep saying this?? :mindblown:

Hillary didn't lose because she was a woman, she lost because she was a uniquely shytty politician, and even then it was really close.

Yeah, this is not true. I know men who didnt want to vote for her because she was a woman ( don't know if they actually end up voting for her anyway) and my Hispanic friends and coworkers say their husbands, brothers etc would never vote for a woman. They don't believe women should lead (again, don't know what they actually did once they got in the booth) They country is misogynistic as hell, I'm sure you know this.

What about someone moderate, boring and uncontroversial?

Like, say, Mark Warner

Warner scares away nobody. Not the white guys, not the wealthy, not the women. He's not polarizing. He doesn't threaten anyone. It's hard to hate someone as bland and white as him, or spread crazy conspiracy theories about him.
The problem with boring is people might not be motivated to come out to vote for him.

I get what you mean, but here is the flip side: any non-boring, high-profile person is going to lose people because of their haters not turning out.

Think about how much Hillary's supporters had a distaste for Obama in 2008 (yeah, he won comfortably, but if there was no financial meltdown, the election would have been a nail-biter)

Think about how much the Bernie people disliked Hillary in 2016

Most of the higher profile candidates who inspire passion/motivation for one reason or another will also have lots of haters who can't stand them

So I guess it comes down to figuring out where more voters are lost: by being boring and not motivating people to come out, or having lots of voters who won't come out because they can't stand you for whatever reason

I did see on TV before the election some Evangelical talking about voting for Trump and he talked about the Bible saying, "Woman should not have dominian over men . . . " I gotta admit it was eye opening cause I wasn't really thinking about it on that level. But still I think it didn't decide the election. Maybe she needs to better than a man to win which is unfair but still possible.
