Biden will be viewed negatively by both young people and Progressives. He doesn't have a record they like plus he has actively shytted on Progressives in the past.
but to be fair, that's the easiest group of voters to flip. all the dems have to do is give him a few progressive issues to tout. decriminalize weed, kill this disgusting interest on student loans, etc. lose the awful rhetoric on trannies and illegals that they've been pushing for the past 5 years

:heh: in what world is Biden the most unifying pick? He already is pretty much hated by the left, he has no chance of bringing in the progressives or young voters.
:snoop: breh, trump's presence in office is what brings in the progressives and young voters. no one had seen him as president in 2016. by 2020 we'll have seen him for 4 years. thats what motivates that turnout

He has in the past thwarted loan reduction legislation for students.

Will they forget if he is for it while previously he was against it? Does he have the will to contradict a sector that was his biggest funder?
The weed is a layup so hopefully.
But having him speak PC could be a heavy lift he routinely puts his foot in his mouth.

Biden is a human gaffe machine, and his record is very suspect. He voted for the crime bill, he voted for the Iraq war, supported TPP, and I could go on. I like Beto, but he is super weak imo. I was not impressed by his debate preformances. I don’t think he is tough enough for a national campaign. Biden/Beto is a terrible ticket imo. I think Trump would get re-elected if that is the Dems ticket.
Edit: Biden could still win, but their are better candidates.

My sentiments exactly.

Name a more unifying pick then. The left doesn't hate him. He's not a progressive darling, but they will back him once he starts attacking Trump.

Kamala, Cory, and Warren are all far more unifying figures for the entire swath of the Democratic vote. The only person rivalling Joe's divisiveness is Bernie due to all the Hillary holdout freaks. Joe is the most hated of all serious potential nominees by the left. Whether they will back him in 2020 remains to be seen, but he is absolutely not a unifying figure as it stands. He's the guy who ran the Anita Hill hearings for Christ's sake. Praised by Hatch and Graham during the Kavanaugh hearings. He's literally said "The younger generation now tells me how tough things are. Give me a break. No, no, I have no empathy for it. Give me a break". Great message to get out the young vote. He hasn't even shown any willingness to bend to progressive issues. He literally said "I don't think 500 billionaires are the reason we're in trouble. The folks at the top aren't bad guys." I'm sure progressives will love hearing that. This is the guy that's going to unify the party? If you think him attacking Trump is going to be enough to pacify progressives and young voters, you have another thing coming. He will lose, and he will have deserved to lose.

Kamala, Cory and Warren only unify progressives :mjlol:

Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan. The working class whites in these states would just stick with Trump rather than vote for these progressive darlings.

Kamala and Cory are progressive darlings now? :why:

Ain't no progressives fukking heavy with those two, their natural home is the centrist Dem establishment. They'll have more trouble winning over progressives than the centrists who are already behind them. Both the Obama and Clinton machines are already signalling their preference for those two, along with Eric Holder and Deval Patrick. Cory and Kamala can definitely win over progressives far easier than Biden though.

White working class in those states went to Trump because Hillary didn't even bother making an argument about their declining situation while Trump did. A progressive message can address that concern far more adeptly than the empty anti-Trump civility posturing Biden has been running with.

Booker, Harris and Gillebrand are at least catching a whiff of what the Progressive agenda is. They all stopped taking PAC money. Meanwhile, Biden is sticking up for bankers ,billionaires and conglomerates.
