I'm from Nawf Dallas....Skillman/Audelia/Forest. It was a hotspot for crime when I was growing up but it never really felt "unsafe."

It's the kind of spot where you could get into all kinds of shyt. However if you minded your own business and didn't start shyt, there weren't any problems.

I do remember some brehs from either Lincoln or SOC (can't remember which one) coming all the way up to Lake Highlands HS my senior year and trying to start some shyt. I don't think they realized how many black people we had.

School at the time was 50% white (mostly upper middle class) and 30% black (from every income level). The Latinos and Asians had an even split.

Cop got knocked out trying to break up the fight but not before the whole hallway was covered in some kind of smoke. These dudes ran into some of the white wrestlers and black football players. Grappling is no joke :russ:

How though. No way you can be in a place like Tyler Texas or Beaumont and feel like you're in the west
Because the south doesn't have deserts. It has swamps and marshes and shyt. The south is supposed to have red clay and pine trees, the west has sand and cactus. .

Texas is Texas. It has elements of the South, Plains and Southwest but it isn't a 100% match for any region. Beach, swamp and desert in the same state is pretty rare I would think.

Southern is more of a state of mind. The south vs southern 2 diff things :yeshrug:

You're really insinuating that North Carolina doesn't have a "southern state of mind"? I wanna hear you break this down, I live in Raleigh and previously lived in both Charlotte and Fayetteville. I've been all around North Carolina, I gotta hear this...

And Austin or San Antonio dont feel like the south.

Texas is texas, its its own country

While admittedly I've never been to those cities, I've known a pretty good number of black folk from Austin and San Antonio...

You'd be making a strange argument to say blacks in SA and Austin aren't southern...

Because the south doesn't have deserts. It has swamps and marshes and shyt. The south is supposed to have red clay and pine trees, the west has sand and cactus. .

No region is monolithic, this is a really narrow definition of both the South and the West...
