When the music is pushed as part of the culture it very much can. Alot of our youths think they have to fit the mold or live up to the ideals the music set. like that poster said above, rap came from the culture now it is the culture.
Oh i know that. I'm asking is other media safe? Look at all the gang related shows that are the top black shows. Shouldn't we consider those as well?

are they dying because they are rappers or because they are into shady shyt?
You mean the shady shyt they brag about doing in their music that they claim is their life compared to actors playing a role(and you didnt answer the question). I wish dudes would stop comparing the two.

"WHATS THE POINT OF THIS THREAD!!!" :sadbron:

Yellow tape around his body, it's a fukking homicide
His face is on a T-Shirt and his family traumatized
I didn't even mean to shoot 'em, he just caught me by surprise
I reloaded my pistol, cocked it back, and shot him twice
His body dropped down to the floor

:whoo::whew::wow::stylin:

At the end of the day how would you feel if your young kids were exposed to this bullshyt on the regular? Kids are like sponges, its not just entertainment to them and its definitely not just entertainment to a lot of the weak minded follow the crowd ass people.

*The following post is just a gauge for you to use in deciding your vote. This thread is just a poll thread not a discussion, no actual replies are necessary.

Many of us are heartbroken at the stories of children being killed in McDonald’s drive-thrus by hood nikka culture due to senseless hood nikka violence.

Or stories like the 3 year old killed last year when dudes fired 150+ shots at a house here in Charlotte.

How many times have you found yourself disturbed by Black on Black violence, while simultaneously listening to/rapping along with that song that be like “yea you know who took that sh*t from you come get back in blood burr burr”?(just an example song but this question applies to any rap song that glorifies killing Black ppl).

Please answer with your Vote.
Yes i do so. But I dont really see it differently than when white people who are against white terrrrorists/ white-gun-violence go watch john wick or any Jason Stratham movie.

We often have these weird unattainable standards of morality for black people as if morality or radio music is source of our problems and not the decades of resource deprivation and societal sabotage we've endured since the 80s.:yeshrug:

I take the viewpoint that 21savage never once made anyone commit a crime who wasnt already pushed in that direction by societal drivers or by personal decision.

Rap went from being a product of the environment to shaping the environment. Its lost all of its original creativity and is now just one huge scheme that markets black death and obsessive materialism.

I listen to a lot ignorant shyt, but I don’t understand how people see it as anything more than entertainment. I don’t walk away from a MCU movie and attempt to jump from building to building like I’m Captain America, I play violent video games, yet I don’t feel the need to go out and starting unloading on random people.
I listen to NBA YoungBoy rap about stomping a dude’s ears together, yet I be chillin’, it’s just entertainment to me.:yeshrug:
You’re a grown adult with a fully develped frontal lobe. Can’t say the same for cats younger then 25.
recent research has found that adult and teen brains work differently. Adults think with the prefrontal cortex, the brain’s rational part. This is the part of the brain that responds to situations with good judgment and an awareness of long-term consequences. Teens process information with the amygdala. This is the emotional part.

I’m 25, but I’ve been knowing this for years now. Even as a teenager I’ve never felt the urge to do something dangerous just because I’ve seen/heard it on tv, videos games, music etc.

nikkas are going to be hypocrites in this thread. Black on black crime is terrible unless its accompanied by a hot flow and beat.

Now how many italian actors doing mafia roles are losing their lives to gun violence compared to drill rappers?
Right.
You also want to know who dont give a fukk about black on black crime? Black Lives Matter, and the nikkas that claim to be speaking on behalf of black folks.

I still listen to a lot of d-boy music, but I just take their lyrics and apply it to money motivation for myself. It's also what I grew up with. Still plenty of sharks where I'm at so, if they talk about protecting them and theirs by any means necessary, then it is what it is, just like how I have to be irl. I tend to leave the gang, drill, and druggy stuff alone for the most part unless it leans on the side of introspection these days or there's just something about the production that really catches my ear or feels good on my body coming through the sub in my car lol

Music is music, if you kill someone because of a song, you didn't kill him because of a song, you are just a psychopath with an excuse.

This is like saying that Mafia movies are making italians kill each other.
100 percent bullshyt!!

I rather hear rappers put out inspirational music instead of the violent stuff. But that stuff doesn’t sell and people love negativity more than the other.
