They're being killed due to the content of the rap music..

They are getting killed because of music though. Nobody is pressing Robert DeNiro because he played a gangster in a movie. nikkas will get pressed for talking tough on a record though.

I enjoy the cautionary tales and street advice. Assists in keeping the head on swivel. Rappers basically giving the whole game away on record.

Rap went from being a product of the environment to shaping the environment. Its lost all of its original creativity and is now just one huge scheme that markets black death and obsessive materialism.
How can rap shape the environment when the same chit been going on in the environment for decades.

I don’t listen to a lot of that rah rah ass shyt. All this shyt corny. These lil midgets out her scared to fight and terrorizing the streets with hammers while these nikkas who barely touched the streets make the sound track that normalizes and desensitizes our minds to it.

We’re one of the few communities in the whole world that go thru what he go thru when it comes to violence and most of it is by choice.

Rap is not a production of environment anymore?

Again, they aren't, they are getting killed because of the circles they move in, Dre and Snoop are not getting fukking killed because they left the hood and that life behind.

quotable

after drill rap and opioid rap started having real effects on the youth all the excuses went out the window. The comparisons to mafia movies probably made sense in the 90s and early 2000s but now days kids are really being influenced by the music and acting on it in real life

It goes both ways. If it didn't we wouldn't see suburbs dudes coming from good homes trying to emulate hood dudes. Rap has had a profound impact on how black people perceive themselves and the world around them. It started off as an expression of the conditions created from the crack era. Since that time it has become more and more commodified to the point where it appears to be one big marketing ploy for brand names and the black struggle as a form of entertainment.

Yes, I can differentiate art from reality. :manny: Might as well not play violent video games or watch violent TV shows and movies if you can't differentiate.
