This thread restored the feeling.

I take people at their word. He said he doesn't support reparations for black people.
Oh. he's not "running" on reparations, but secretly he's going to pass it. We're supposed to hope and pray that when Bernie gets in office, then we'll get tangibles. A wink wink, and nod nod. And when it's time for reelection, it'll be the same story. Can't run on your issues, just get me in. And then when he's out and hasn't done anything, it's because they need to get the next democrat in.

Is Bernie the first candidate to offer a lot of stuff that sounds good? Didn't Obama do the same thing? Yet, things remained the same for black people. Why do you think this reparations or no vote thing got started? Because black people are losing faith. You can only lie to people for so long. We want direct, specific, tangible things. Not the crap Bernie's offering, because it is not much different from what others have promised.
Obama didn't offer anything close to anything Bernie Sanders has offered - been pushing for - or gotten grassroots support to pass.

He literally only offered a national version of Mitt Romney's ACA plan, to "do something" (not specific) about Wall Street, and to close Guantanamo Bay.

You can advocate for more than one thing at a time - I want reparations and the candidate I'm backing in my district has it as a part of her platform - but I don't *just* want reparations. College, public finance, US warmongering, the carceral capitalist system, treatment of indigenous lands, more left-leaning judges, etc.

Yep, This is the part where I get reported for having multiple accounts. Whatever you can to mislead black people.

You've never been reported and aren't getting reported so you don't have to fish.

And this in itself is a sleeper account

None of these candidates are committed to reparations. Regardless of the lip services they give, the conditional discussions they have about supporting a bill, they're all full of shyt. Stop falling for it. They'll only entertain a true discussion about it if the masses demand it.

If politics is truly the "art of the possible", a candidate running on publicly popular platforms (M4A, Student debt, etc.) and winning at least opens up the possibility of serious discussion about other issues pertaining to rights and economic justice.

I've never seen a group of supposedly black people being so happy about Trump getting reelected. :hhh:

Does seem likely to happen, but no way I'll be on that side of history.

Did John Kerry or Hillary Clinton have the crowds of what Bernie Sanders have? Did they have rallies of over 50k people screaming their names?

But these "black" posters are the scarlett letter of their households and immediate families. Forget about them actually supporting a black owned business. They the parirahs of their communities, but want to lead all Black people to think like them. :mjlol:

I think what Bernie "should" say is something like............."I support reparations, but our nation simply isn't willing to accept the truth about the overwhelming sacrifice black Americans have made in making the U.S., the greatest country on earth." The Dems might be in for a rude awakening. The liberals want us to fall in line so they can beat Trump but from our perspective, neither option looks appealing. Obviously Bernie would be a better choice than Trump, but it's not in our interests to sacrifice (YET AGAIN) for the greater good. He wants to open up the borders to people that would happily string us up from trees and gun us down for not speaking espanol in their hoods.

Obama the reason You even have a job, post 2008 economic crash. :beli:
The same Obama that bailed out the rich with hundreds of Billions of our tax dollars? And who said that manufacturing jobs would never return to the US? So he tried to push an even worse trade deal than NAFTA.

The same guy who's Dept of Justice didn't prosecute anyone on Wall Street for the 2008 Financial collapse? The Dems won't won't even run on Obama's record. Dude was a Corporate shill bought and paid for by Wall Street.

Obama to Trump: 'What magic wand do you have?'

During a PBS town hall that aired Wednesday, Obama referenced Trump's promise to bring back jobs to the United States when talking about manufacturing.

“Well, how exactly are you going to do that? What exactly are you going to do? There’s no answer to it," Obama said.

And Trump any better? But Trump made "the strong economy" that Obama made, the blueprint for.

On top of Trump doing nothing on what Obama failed to do.

Trump at the very least isn't gonna allow unchecked immigration. Whether it be illegals or foreigners on temporary work visas.

So Democrats are gonna have to find some other way to replace ADOS with foreigners. Because they lose on the immigration issue despite what the media says.
