You guys don't have backbone or something. Afraid to ask for stuff, willing to accept much inferior options. Maybe you guys don't understand how inferior Bernie's plans are to reparations. We're not trying to get Trump reelected, we're trying to get a candidate that will make real change for black Americans. Now if that's not possible, then we're supposed to just accept the scraps forever? I understand you guys are buying what Bernie and co are selling, but I'm not. I don't have faith that he's going to get half of his proposals off the ground, and if he does, I don't have faith that it's going to make much of a difference. I guess I'm just faithless. However, a black agenda. Now that perks up my ears.

Black folks going in hard on Republicans is the political equivalent to beating a dead horse/preaching to the choir.

We know they're trash. For YEARS, in fact. The light getting shined on these Dem roaches is something that's been long overdue, though.
perfectly worded, the fact mfs have a issue with it speaks more on them then those that are doin the critiquing

I think what Bernie "should" say is something like............."I support reparations, but our nation simply isn't willing to accept the truth about the overwhelming sacrifice black Americans have made in making the U.S., the greatest country on earth." The Dems might be in for a rude awakening. The liberals want us to fall in line so they can beat Trump but from our perspective, neither option looks appealing. Obviously Bernie would be a better choice than Trump, but it's not in our interests to sacrifice (YET AGAIN) for the greater good. He wants to open up the borders to people that would happily string us up from trees and gun us down for not speaking espanol in their hoods.
Do you do anything other than listen to right-wing fearmonger radio?
Or do you clown by yourself?

Are you doing a single tangible thing to actually either bring a candidate in support of reparations to the ballot right now, form a PAC, or in any way organize a movement for a Black agenda?

I already have been campaigning for a local woman for Congress who has both has reparations on her ballot, the Green New Deal and support for free public higher education.

And I haven't met a single "tangibles or no vote" person yet :unimpressed:

How would ending racial discrimination in loans and mortgages be "appropriated" by white people?

How would protecting minority communities from pollutant exposure be "appropriated" by white people?

How would addressing the underlying health causes of Black infant mortality and Black maternal mortality be "appropriated" by White people?

How would H.R. 40 be "appropriated" by White people?

How would ending redlining be "appropriated" by White people. Ending redlining can help any Black person looking to create real wealth via home ownership because it broadens the range of neighborhoods they can move into and the stability of the investment. That HAS to be part of ending the racial wealth gap. Even for the Black folk not directly helped, having more Black folk with more stable mortgage investments vicariously would improve the state of the entire community.

I have a LOT of trouble believing that significant assistance for HBCUs will actually be appropriated by White people. The article you linked says that only 17% of students in HBCUs across the country are White and 3/4 of HBCUs are still 80% or more African-American. It also says that the main reason some HBCUs are accepting more White students is because of declining enrollment and revenue. If you gave HBCUs additional financial support AND made tuition free, both of which Sanders is proposing, then you address both those issues and schools wouldn't be pressured to accept more White students.

Hard to know what you mean that a federal jobs guarantee, universal health care, raise to a living wage, etc. would be "appropriated" by white people . Yes, white people would get them, but Black folk would too. Ending unemployment, non-living wages, student loan debt, housing and mortgage discrimination, and lack of health care insurance among black folk would all significantly increase the median $17,000 base wealth of the black community without having nearly as big an effect on the median $180,000 base wealth of the white community.
I went through each of the bullet points you listed.
1. Redlining should is already illegal, laws just need to be enforced on people who discriminate, and gentrification can’t be stopped without strengthening our communities socially and financially. That should be the focus
2-4 for everybody and doesn’t close the racial wealth gap
5. Thumbs up
6. Everybody
7. Would like to see the how
8. Thumbs up
9. Doubt it
10. The EPA needs to be stronger. Clean air and water should be for all everyone
11. Can be achieved with healthcare overhaul
12-13. Don’t like.

So Bernie is 4/14 with me

Looking at this shyt fest of a debate right now... I can clearly see why.

I already sent my absentee ballot in for the primary, but the laughable nature of this shyt show is depressing and nauseating.

I want to fast forward shyt so I can only hear the voices of Bernie and Warren.

There’s literally no Democrat running that is someone majority of people want to rally behind. Republicans already have their base that will vote for them no matter what. Democrats have too many fickle voters to be this all over the place.

The Opposite Of Elliott Wilson's Mohawk
There are quite a few libertarians and conservatives in HL.
They must be new posters... admittedly I haven't been in HL for years but the last non liberal I remember was DEAD7, who seems like less of an actual libertarian and more of a liberal caricature of a libertarian. Who are HL's libertarians and conservatives?

And you haven't actually lived long enough to see any kind of fundamental change in the "dealing of opinions." Nor have I - but the consensus was built in the past from desperation - not from a debate.

The US folded on Civil Rights when the threat of militant action on the ground from AAs across the country, and mass-pressure from the Soviets and surrounding nations ready to weaponize US weakness - not because people sat down and talked about it.

Neoconservative and neoliberal ideology has literally worked to undermine all Black interests in this country from the 20th century to now.

Neoliberalism has undermined black interests too :troll:

Dems have been out-politicked by the GOP for decades, which is ground zero in fighting back against conservatism and racist Republican policy. They failed to anticipate and counterattack Trump's ascendancy. Like I asked @Mephistopheles - do the Dems have anything to offer their constituents besides not being Republicans? Because all rewarding their impotence does is delay the GOP's advances- not actually counter or stop them. Every election is life or death because the Democrats have no strategy. They are reacting to the GOP instead of executing their own game plan.
