I was faded out on South Beach this weekend and saw a big group of people playing and decided to bust out "oh shyt a Charizard!"They just looked at me like I was stupid

Explain. Because if there are multiple possibilities you don't know EXACTLY what the IV is. Hence the purpose of the average. I just feel like its a better representation of the IV, its not skewed.
Edit: Even The Sliph Road who is heavy in the streets uses average. I'm actually going to start using their calculator. Their pokedex website is legit.

MLK blessing us from heavenYo I was out last night around the MLK memorial cause my homie was like reddit said that's one of the go to areas to catch pokemon. I was likeaiight whatever. It's a park. It's by water. Let's give it a shot.

We left so many pokemon for everyone else to feast on
I'm going back damnit. It was so live I ran out of pokeballs.
I live in a pretty dry area for Pokemon, only thing around here are Drowsees, Jynxs, Rats and Pidgeys. A fukking Dragonair and a Butterfree was in the area. I walked around the mall for a good 45 minutes before they both stopped showing up on the map.
Not even the four Tauros and Machop could cheer me up.

Finally catch a wild gyardos and it's 570cp with poor IVs. 
Was at a park and saw people sprinting by me yelling Gyardos, so I followed them and
Park also has a ton of dratinis and magikarps.
Caught a perfect 100% IV dratini and two 90%+ ones.
Wild 1298 slow bro.
Also up to around 260 magikarp candies.
Gotta go back and catch another ~30-35 of them boys.
