Eventually all their games will be day 1 on PC, two years into the ps5s life and you still can't buy it in stores

if Horizon Zero Dawn II came out on PC day one 1, it would've at least doubled the sales they had on ps5

I think ghost of tsushima is the next to PC, then Spider-Man, once they see the monster numbers though, the will start dropping day 1

they need to sell software, don't have enough consoles to meet demand

What's the celebration about? 27% *by* 2025 means no day-and-date releases. You're still going to be waiting years between releases for games you're only going to pretend to be interested in for console wars reasons.
I never hear the opposite when yall wait years and at times decades for games to be released on playstation :jbhmm: is the peasant mind so simple it cant understand this happens to all platforms :jbhmm: seems like a stupid point to bring up since it also happens to Sony :jbhmm:

:wow:They out here starving hoping Sony throws them a bone

We eating good in Sony land
Xbox stans like “oooo multiplatform?:gladbron:

“anything for us?? :feedme:

more like starving, which is why Sony is trying to capitalize off a new user base for their very limited amount of games they release per year.

Pitiful peasants, PC is here to save the day once again.

Half your games exclusive to your home console a drastic change.
There is no way to spin this as "okay".

Microsoft saw the future first and Sony is following suit.
It feels like they're moving to viewing themselves like Warner bros., Disney etc.
companies which create cinematic videogames that are to be experienced like a film.
Slowly they're moving away from Hardware being a core part of their business and focusing on Software
morphing the playstation brand as we know it very similarly to what Microsoft started on Xbox One.

They can get live service games apparently. Xbox gamers here seem to be excited about Sony releasing live service games on PC. Personally I couldn't care less about those style games.

In a few years Sony is going to be unrecognizable thanks to Jim Ryan transforming their game slate into mostly live service games. Releasing all those style games seems silly because they'll be competing against each other for people's time.

Have you been listening to Jim Ryan? Every other word is live service. They're talking about 2 unannounced ones this year. For a company that previously didn't GAF about that type of game that's a transformation. 12 launched by 2025 That's almost 5 live service games a year average for the next 2.5 years.

Are you suggesting 12 GAAS games in 3 plus years is "most" of their release slate? Really breh?

I'm suggesting that them releasing a live service game every 2.5 months on average from mid 2022 through 2025 is likely going to be a good portion of the games they release. I'm suggesting as these games release and make money like all the other companies they'll transition to live service games they'll be incentivesed to go further down that route.

So yeah I think 2025 Sony is going to be way more focused on live service games than 2022 Sony that says 12 games in the next 2.5 years. I think that comes at the expense of the style of games they started focusing on during the PS3 and PS4 years. Do I think they compete abandon those games? No but I think over time that's a diminished focus because they say hey instead of making this narrative focused single player only affair incorporate elements to make that a live service.

Look at the backlash Gran Turismo got. That microtransaction milk the customer attitude especially with Jim Ryan at the helm is already penetrating the company. To some people bring on live service games. To me I have no interest in them at all.
