Releasing day one on PC would be a grave mistake for Sony. Let's look at the results so far.

The biggest selling Sony title in PC is Horizon FW. With each subsequent PC release the sales numbers have gone down. (Helldivers 2 being the exception)

If you want an example of day and date on PC look at what it did for Xbox. Didn't really move the needle.
If they release day and date on their own store front on PC atleast they are getting 100 percent of the revenue. You cant judge low sales on PC the games they’re releasing are 3 to 4 years old. Sony hasn’t done day and date on a legit first party ip.

If those sold well on Xbox do you think Microsoft would be looking at putting some of these games on Sony Consoles and Nintendo. And they probably have to drop a bag to put some of the the third party releases. Also they still need steam to generate sales for a lot of these 1st party titles that are on gamepass. Gamepass is having and issue bringin in new consumers. Steam and PlayStation consoles are growing in user base. Where gamepass isn’t growing to these levels.

Negative. Gamepass at its current rate is gaining 6 million subscribers per year and that is successful as fukk. Microsoft business blueprint is subscription base due to the guarantee money coming in monthly and not per quarter. Microsoft no matter what will release their games on gamepass because that is what brings them money.

Steam PC in general is the ecosystem for gaming now. You can’t treat it as separate as Sony is learning. Microsoft has no problem releasing games on Steam as well as having their own PC storefront. The goal is to hopefully have their console gaming fanbase adopt PC and use their storefront due to the ecosystem. It’s a win win for them.

Sony user base doesn’t translate to financial success. The adoption rate of their titles compared to console sold is horrendous and you are seeing the failure of that today.

You went from talmbout if the games were good, to now asking if they “sold well” :stopitslime:

I thought this thread woulda taught yall something. Sony putting their best sellers on other platforms as well. :usure:

Gamepass IS growing across multiple platforms, and yes games still need to sell outside gamepass which they do. It was revealed that gamepass is bringing in 230 mill a month. That could fund 1 big sony blockbuster every month off gamepass revenue alone. And then those games still sell for full price on other platforms and even xbox.

Bro there was a lot of nikkaz getting that 10 dollar or 3 dollar deal for gamepass. Microsoft been saying they lose money on gamepass. Why you think Nutella was on Phil’s ass in expanding the amount of users. I honestly think the ABK deal and Bethesda deal was an incentive to force Sony and Nintendo’s hand to put gamepass on there. But looks like they going the physical and digital route with them. Either way Microsoft is seeing the importance of software sales and are trying to release on other platforms so they don’t have to Jack up the monthly price for gamepass immensely.

They may make 230 million in revenue put they don’t make any profit.
