Everybody keeps saying these stats but nobody tells us what it's actually going to do? Load up faster? What is all this extra speed going to translate into when I'm playing the pro version of the same game that exists on the non pro version? Not another resolution vs fidelity toggle button I hope
It will be a resolution boost and more stable framerates.

8K? I dunno, they better have some good upscaling algorithms built-in here. 4K upscaling is still fuzzy as shyt almost everywhere.

Like I said y'all was hype for the dev kit

This is a console for the gullible. Next to no one will use anything in this console.

I'm looking at Steam right now.

Capcom is targeting an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 as recommended for Dragon's Dogma 2
Atlus has an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 as recommended for Persona 3 Reload
Namco has an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 as recommended for Tekken 8
From Software has an NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1070 8 GB as recommended for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.

Top Sellers right now on Steam.

Recommended

Helldivers 2: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060
Baldur's Gate 3: Nvidia 2060 Super
Rainbox Six: Siege: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 (or GTX 760 / GTX 960)
Cyberpunk 2077: GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER
Ready or Not: Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB
Enshrouded: NVIDIA RTX 2070 Super
Hogwart's Legacy: NVIDIA GeForce 1080 Ti

This is all to say this. That AI DLSS solution that they have will do a lot of lifting because I doubt we'll be seeing anything native come from the studios by way of resolution because they simply aren't going to target anything above these cards above.

I don't see the point of this console outside of enthusiast circles for the rare Sony game that might use it.

The specs are similar to what's posted in the OP.

GPU (Previously revealed)
Rendering 45% faster than PS5
2-3x Ray-tracing (x4 in some cases)
33.5 Teraflops
PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution Upscaling) upscaling/antialiasing solution
Support for resolutions up to 8K is planned for future SDK version
Custom machine learning architecture
AI Accelerator, supporting 300 TOPS of 8 bit computation / 67 TFLOPS of 16-bit floating point
Currently, the PlayStation 5 Pro is running on SKD 9.00, and SKD 10.00 is expected in Fall 2024, which is the current targeted release date of the console.

I think they need to go back to the PS1 to PS3 blueprint.

Save the jump in power for the next generation and focus on making the existing product smaller and cheaper.

I think part of the reason why the PS2 sold so well is that it was affordable 2 years into its cycle. The PS5 price hasn't really dropped.
The PS2 released in 2000 for $299. That same $299 accounting for inflation is about $545 in today's money which is the exact price a PS5 is breh....

Did the PS2 stay at the same price, or did the price drop?

Read the 3rd paragraph. What's amusing is looking at the price drops throughout its history and the sales over the years. Some of you would argue that the sky is pink and rained elephants.
