This movie was very enjoyable. Such a feel-good film that never lost my attention. My only gripe is it left me wanting more
I yelled when it and the cat made eye contact LOL.so you all didn't see the NY Pizza rat breh in this movie I was like hell naw
Or what? You don’t like what I have to say block me or ignore it
Keeping it a buck, the more I think about this, the less high I'm on it.
The ending was a complete copout. Dude could've continued music or teaching, he clearly had passions for both.
No, 22 doesn't have a defined gender, race, or voice, but @Ziggiy isn't entirely off base, regardless of how you feel about it.
Gotta agree with @Conz too in that that was Joe really that flawed of a person to even go through all this?
Its just...this was kinda hyped for me and it really wasn't that.
Movie kind of threw itself off when Joe at the very beginning was on a come up of both being a teacher (offered a full time job), and as a musician (getting a big break), only to end with "i dunno lol "Ask yourself why you feel this way ?
Why are you so concerned about ''what voice'' or ''what body'' entered Joe ? did that really throw the movie off base especially when the movie went out of its way to explain the mechanics of the ''soul''.
When you watch it through the eyes of twitter and hard trodden militant topics of course you'd find flaws. no movie is flawless but to throw something so off base as race and white womans voice into this is literally trying too hard to be woke you need sleep.

The shyt just wasn't that deep, wasn't that good, and had some questionable elements to it.

The voices were like that so we don't get confused. They showed 22 speaking in Joe's voice initially before they changed it
Agreed with all of this. Maybe it hit home for me hard because I was caught up in grinding for the job and putting in all kinds of hours trying to work my way up. Then I took my first real vacation and it just changed my whole mentality. Work stopped being life and my mentality changed to the mindset that life is meant to be lived and enjoyed. If I get that promotion great, if not I still make great money and live a stress free life where I get to have a lot of fun and create a lot of little memories. This is a western mentality.
He was so caught up chasing that he didn’t appreciate the world. He sits in the barber chair and never asks the barber about his life, only jazz. The barber was interested in jazz, but he clearly had more to him. That young girl on the trumpet, when he was a cat he tried to dismiss her and she could have lost her love of the instrument and dropped out of school. It was only 22 that brought it back when he listened to her new melody.
Pursuing your dreams is important but you cannot be singular about it. That’s the point.
