Lmao nothing “lost” about me in the slightest. If allowing a white woman to STEAL your body and rewarding her with being willing to give up your OWN life for HER happiness is your idea of heartwarming tale then I highly suggest you watch Driving Miss Daisy. You’ll LOVE it breh

I'm always impressed when somebody doubles down on stupidity

i just watched Onward. the brother/family stuff in this resonated more than the "even a mundane life is beautiful, etc" message of Soul. i gotta watch that again in a few months.

Wait what are y’all arguing about? Nothing in the movie suggests that 22 is a white women. She’s a soul that never inhabited a body. So to suggest it’s the same magical negro trope is egregious and reaching. Is 22 voiced by a white women yes but to run this along racial lines when her identity is not even defined by our definition of race is wrong. Ppl like to find something wrong with things nowadays but usually it’s a based on a simple observation that ties to emotions but that’s not facts. I hate to see people making conclusions and debating something in a movie that they placed their erroneous opinion on. Especially in a movie that made specific efforts to show black ppl in a way that we could all be like they definitely put their best efforts from the animation, the details, and specific story details that we could relate to.

it ain't my fault you can't make a coherent point.

imagine getting this worked up over a movie for kids. good lord. couldn't be mine.

I did not and if thats all you got out of the post then God bless you but we just won’t see eye to eye.

black boys deserve better than this movie. We aren’t magical negroes for spoiled white women and the aspirations that WE choose for OURSELVES do indeed have meaning.

first of all, the "being" as clearly explained in the movie is a NOBODY. No gender, no anything. So that's not a white woman. They even made it a POINT as to why the "being" sounds like "a middle aged white woman". so again, that's your OWN insecurity being projected because you feel some kind of way over a white woman's voice in an ANIMATED FEATURE in which the character has no gender or any true authentic voice. You feel a way about it because of are insecure of your own identity.

This movie was solid, it's a follow up to Inside Out kinda which I also liked.

I'm disappointed by the race talk on social media though, people find a way to try to ruin everything.

Cornfields, cows, & an one stoplight town
This was excellent. It had a great message about purpose & living in the moment. Like WW84, I understand & agree with the critiques about the problematic elements, but overall, they did not distract from my enjoyment. It had me tearing up at the end. Highly recommend.
