Pitchfork's staffing as it relates to Hip Hop reviews, reminds me of Ferguson's political makeup and police department as it relates to the town's demographics. Ferguson's population is 70% Black, yet 5 out of 6 council members are white. The mayor is white, and the police department has a total of 50 police officers with only three being Black. That means in a town of roughly 21,000, the majority ethnic demographic consisting of 15,400 people have minimal if any say politically whatsoever. Only 12.3 percent of the eligible voters actually excercised their right during municipal elections. In other words, only 2500 people out of a population of 21,000 voited. I'd venture to say most that voted weren't even Black. That means the Black population was content to allow the same MO go on, and only time will tell if this shooting incident will wake them up. Rioting under these circumstances is the political equivalent of a child or a teenager throwing a temper tantrum. Hopefully upon getting their senses they'll get proactive politically and organize themselves so that they run the town as opposed to being in an apartheid situation.
That all said..........................
Ferguson: Remain politically lazy and expect fair treatment by the police and the system brehs
Hip Hop and Pitchfork: Allow culture vultures to have a say and possibly dictate the course of Hip Hop and expect credible & fair album reviews brehs.
