Pitchfork's staffing as it relates to Hip Hop reviews, reminds me of Ferguson's political makeup and police department as it relates to the town's demographics. Ferguson's population is 70% Black, yet 5 out of 6 council members are white. The mayor is white, and the police department has a total of 50 police officers with only three being Black. That means in a town of roughly 21,000, the majority ethnic demographic consisting of 15,400 people have minimal if any say politically whatsoever. Only 12.3 percent of the eligible voters actually excercised their right during municipal elections. In other words, only 2500 people out of a population of 21,000 voited. I'd venture to say most that voted weren't even Black. That means the Black population was content to allow the same MO go on, and only time will tell if this shooting incident will wake them up. Rioting under these circumstances is the political equivalent of a child or a teenager throwing a temper tantrum. Hopefully upon getting their senses they'll get proactive politically and organize themselves so that they run the town as opposed to being in an apartheid situation.

That all said..........................

Ferguson: Remain politically lazy and expect fair treatment by the police and the system brehs

Hip Hop and Pitchfork: Allow culture vultures to have a say and possibly dictate the course of Hip Hop and expect credible & fair album reviews brehs.

Pitchfork has also included albums from TI, Jeezy, Clipse, JayZ, Eminem, Ghostface, Wu Tang Clan, Dr Dre, KMD, Raekwon, Boogie Down Productions, Rakim, etc on their other best of the decade lists; I think you are just mad Kanye owned this last list :yeshrug:

Gtfo with this bullshyt caping talking about bbbut black people are 13% of the population.. what the fukk does that matter?

These guys make a bunch of lists with hip hop shyt and people eat it up as if they are reliable people to listen to when it comes to whats hot and whats not in rap.. when in reality theyre a bunch of hipsters and cacs who didn't grow up on this shyt and don't love this shyt like we do. U really think those cacs are sitting back bumping Finally Rich or 1017 Thug enough to come to the conclusion that its one of the best albums of the decade so far?

They aren't strictly a hip hop site but youre lying to yourself if you don't think that they haven't played a big part in the culture the past few years.

Other than people using their reviews to validate artists/albums that they like, I don't really see how they've played a big part in the culture. They review music, it's not like it's a major resource for DJ's, breakers, producers, fashion and other aspects of Hip Hop culture. I'm not even sure if Pitchfork is that huge offline outside of the festival (which still only has like a handful of Hip Hop acts).

I don't see how they dikkride Drake...they give his albums 8's...Basically the average score most reviewers gave them. You're just salty because they rightly shytted on 50 wack albums. They're definitely on Kayne's dikk tho

This is a stupid ass thread. Pitchfork doesnt claim to be a hip hop publication,. Their target audience is only marginally familiar with the genre

This is completely irrelevant.

1. The black population in the us is about 12.6%, if pitchfork hires like another black person they'll have just below that and two more they'll be just above it.

2. I'd say that about 90-95% of their reviews etcs are from indie rock, pop, alternative, folk music etc.
Aka "white music" if we are using such stupid terms, so it makes sense that 90% of their staff is white :what:.

3. A vast majority of hiphop consumers are white, so statistically speaking that we even constitute 10% of their staff will statically (and "racistly") speaking make our 10% an overrepresentation given the type of music they review.

If Pitchfork is not a hip hop publication, why in the hell are they reviewing hip hop albums? :what:

Do hip hop publications review rock, techno and whatever other bullshyt that they listen to?
They review all type of music, just cause MTV used to show hiphop videos didn't make it a hiphop channel, just cause CNN show sports news doesn't make it a sports channel :what:.

It's a music magazines specializing in indie shyt, i.e. it's "genre less"

besides this thread being obvious trolling...

never understood the idea that simply because someone has black skin that makes THEM more knowledgable or credible to talk about rap or hip hop than someone that isn't. :laff: stupid thread. hell.. i'll even say that this thread is actually racist not just towards white people but to black people as well. you have some black folks always complain about racism, being stereotyped BUT yet they pull shyt like this.

Ulterior intent; race isnt the issue. The topic was only created because hes salty eminem didnt make the albums of the decade list while Kanye got two albums in the top 10 so he decided to use a racial angle for the topic because thats one issue he knows the board will rally in support for. Hes a cac pandering to black people to try and subtly discredit a black artist in anger for succeding over a white one. clever
